First I make sure the area is clean. I just spray it with water a wipe it with a microfiber towel. Then I wrap around the brake light in tape so I'm not hitting the paint. Soak the 3000 sandpaper in water for like an hour and then wet sand the brake light. You don't have to go too crazy.

After sanding and drying the light it will be hazy from the sand paper. Finally you can hand polish with a microfiber towl, or applicator pad if you have them. I use Meguiar's Ultimate Polish.

I also did the driving lights and the reverse lights. The tail lights are usually in good shape because they are tucked in and protected.

Wax her really well, perhaps a polish while you are at it. Some cry foul over ClayBar but if the paint is bad, well clean her up some.

Here is a decent vid on the sanding of the lights:

Have you thought about lowering the rear a bit? You'll be surprised how some minor lowering in the rear can improve the look of the C4.

I think for about $30-40 delivered you can get the extra extra long rear bolts (BDE-Systems.com). On eBay you can find cheap LED interior kits to improve the lighting of the interior.

As always, keep an eye open in the C4 parts for sale. I bought my CCWs from the C5 section and there are always deals popping up on CCWs over there.

The third brake light and front bumper lights you can sand with 3000 grit sandpaper and then hand polish to bring them back to life. It's kind of silly but it's all about the details. Here's my before and after:
I just picked up some 3000 grit sandpaper. Were there any steps before you sanded the plastic lenses?
Did you do it to the driving lights, side markers, and tail lights?
You can do it to all but you will need to remove or screw up your paint. Then be prepared to spend some time with a rubbing compound to bring back the shine.

Yes.. currently deciding on 1" or 2" bolts.. thinking 1" is plenty or risk the ricer look.

You asked about lowering the rear? Pretty easily done with longer bolts, and costs less than $30

Yep.. mine are on the way.. 1" lower.. hope its enough. Looks like I could have gone 1/2" lower with existing bolts.

throttle body hose bypass was done by former owner.

this is a great thread! Lots of excellent ideas.

Raising the vehicle plugging them in from the bottom makes it soooo much easier.
