Default Which top do you prefer?

Hey guys I'm am purchasing a Artic White 2016 z06/z07 used and the owner has both tops. He will only sell me one with the car so I have a choice of the painted CF roof or the clear one. I know the top comes off so will I miss the clear one? Which one would you guys prefer is you had the choice?

Thanks

Reggie

I had a c4 zr1 with the dual top option one clear and one painted fiberglass with a headliner. The clear one was hotter then hell to drive with on. I never used it. I would get the car with the painted top and headliner. And the car looks better in a single color in my opinion.

i actually love my clear top. very cool on rainy days, lol.

however, with the sun it can sometimes be magnified, so i may tint the inside..

Get the painted top. Matches the car and you can always add the clear roof cheaper in the future if you really want it

Painted looks so much better, and the clear one will bake you like an oven in the summer

There are tons of 100 degree days here and with my transparent top I'm never uncomfortable because the a/c system always overpowers the sun's rays. I had an 2006 C6 with the transparent top and in the 9 years with my 2007 Z06's interior, every day seemed like I was in a dungeon.

Back in my C4 days I had both, and generally ran the tinted (clear) in the winters and the painted one in the heat of summer. And that's in Seattle, not Dallas.

It was actually nice to go back and forth too. Not quite like getting a new car, but it was a seasonal change that kept it fresh for a while.

Now I have a convertible and would never go back!

Default Clear is Hot

I have the clear and carbon tops on my white 16 Z. After a couple of weeks in the summer with the clear on, it is now in the garage and I never use it as it is way to hot in the cabin. I use just the carbon.

My 86 and 97 only had the tinted transparent tops. I missed the feeling of those tops when driving. My 15 had the two top option and was delivered with the solid top installed. When I got the car home I removed the solid top and put on the transparent top and haven't removed it except to clean it.

I live in NC with some hot summers and there have no issue with the heat. The AC works fine and the only issue I have noticed with any transparent top is the need to wear a hat that shades the eyes when the sun is at certain angles. Otherwise, the sun can shine into your eyes even if you have sun glasses on.

Have had both tops with my 16' and 17', only used the transparent tops, just like them better, gets hot in the summer if the car sits outside, but to me it makes the car feel roomier.

The glass top tends to be cheaper to buy after the fact. My car came with the glass top which I preferred for more headroom. I had the sides wrapped to match the cars color to mimic the look of the exposed carbon roof. It def gives the car a more airy feel.

I had the two top option on my 2014 stingray and sold it after the first summer! Too hot most of the time for me. And, I found it distracting when driving in the Blue Ridge & Smokies with the shadows and light alternating.

I have tint on my transparent and prefer it over the cf because it feels more open. If that makes sense.

Get white. Clear is easier to pick up later AND after having a coupe with a clear top it would get quite warm in the Summer.

That one is the exposed CF roof. The painted one you can't see any of the CF.
