Occasionally my shifter hangs up going in and out of reverse and between all gears (stays stuck in neutral). I was looking fro a shifter rebuild kit for the C1 but I see they only make C2 and later?
Questions: Is it a shifter issue or linkage? Car has 107k miles, shifter and linkage are original. My guess is normal wear and time has taken its toll.

If I need linkage is the Hurst worth upgrading too?
I see Corvette Central has a complete new shifter and linkage kit for $569
If it's the stock shifter, if you lift the console shift plate and boot, you should be able to see 3 rectangular cutouts about 1/4" wide in the top of the shift levers. There's a tool you can put in there to hold them (when shifter is in neutral they should line up side by side) or you can put the shifter in neutral and adjust whichever one is forward or back slightly so they line up.

And the answer is yes, great quality Hursts are available, way nicer to use than the sloppy stock one. But if you take yours out you'll see it's not rocket science. Clean it all, check for wear at all the wear points, and straighten any bent/warped pieces. Replace any needed parts and put it back in.
