Those things seem to hold their value.
After reading above post (I was typing mine as he posted), I will have to reconsider.
I have always wanted a beater one too, but have zero reason to here in CT. Back in Pa down on the mountain...yes..
While i agree that I'd rather have a Jeep in certain circumstances (and I do own a Grand Cherokee and a Yukon Denali), for me any type of Jeep will never be cooler than the Vette.
Comparing the two is like comparing... well, a truck to a sports car. They are meant for totally different things. And I personally was far more thrilled when I bought my Vette than when I bought any of my other vehicles.
Lastly, while there are occasional "Tonka Toys" at the local car shows, the majority of the "most cool" cars are the sports cars and exotics.
So the Jeep is cool for certain things, but that will never make it cooler than the Vette in my book.
I think after riding in a Corvette, the nod may go the Vette. My 11 year old son didn't seem very impressed with my 2002 Z06, until I took him for his first ride. Then he said "This thing is more fun than a roller coaster!" Now when we go anywhere, he ask "Can we take the Vette?" I've done a Jeep Jamboree tour through the Smokey Mountains with a friend in his old CJ5, and that doesn't compare to doing a full throttle run through the gears or drifting a corner in the Z06. not even close.
My 14 year old daughter was excited as soon as my wife told her I was buying a Vette. She had a school field trip and needed to be dropped off by the buses. For over a week, she was begging me to drop her off in the Vette. I don't see her doing that for a Jeep.
