I need to rebuild my 1966 rear calipers. Who offers USA made kits? Rock auto has ac delco kits under 15.00 each, does not say if made in USA? Same with points/condenser, what brand is best and do we want the separate type condenser with the wire instead of one piece set? Thanks all Big-K
standard motor products makes most if not all tune up parts for a lot of brands. not sure about the brake parts. I would call Ken at Lone Star for any brake parts

You may not get US-made components from Delco brand any more. Raybestos brand may but I haven't looked into it in a while. Have you looked on ebay for NOS GM/Delco seals?
NAPA Echlin brand gets good marks for points/condenser by Duke Williams and Lars G. (sorry Lars, I can't recall how to spell your last name). Duke Williams (long-time Corvette guy, NCRS, technical writer, etc) and Tim Schuetz wrote this comprehensive paper on it:
From: At my Bar drinking and wrenching in Lafayette Colorado
As noted above, the NAPA/Echlin ignition parts are good. Points part number CS786 have a modestly heavy spring (not the extreme, "hi perf" spring) but I have run those points regularly to 6500 rpm on my SUN machine with no misfires or spark scatter - the moderate spring provides excellent rubbing block life with stable, consistent dwell (and resultant timing) for 20,000+ miles.

It's difficult to find parts made in the USA. After reading that article a while back, I ordered up the points/rotor/cap from NAPA and have them in a couple of midyears and they work fine. The CS786 Points are made in Mexico.

For most of us, you can go on Ebay and buy NOS Delco-Remy D106P (or PS) points made in the USA long ago. Excellent quality and should go to 5500-6000 RPM. About $10-15. Ebay has many listings for these. https://www.ebay.com/itm/22443325470...EAAOSwwoFgf17T
The D112P are the high RPM set and go to 7000+ RPM. They cost a LOT more per set...........but I have run them on my cars since around 1970.
Since points can go for 15-20,000 miles and should last 5-10 years in our seldom driven hobby cars, the cost should almost be irrelevant.
Be sure to buy the matching D-R condenser as well. D-204.
Larry
PS: Agree that ACCEL were once the top of the line..............but not certain anymore. I ran ACCEL for many many years back then as well. Never an issue.

Last I knew, Accel was supplying the CS7860 to Standard Motor Products / Echlin. Accel supplied a good amount of "high performance" ignition parts to Echlin through the years. I always have ordered and used the CS7860's with no issue. Of course, I don't stretch out my engines like I used to
I think the toughest part of the equation is coming up with a good condenser. I sure seems like a bigger problem than I ever remember. FWIW, I have been buying MSD distributor rotors https://www.summitracing.com/parts/m...RoCbjUQAvD_BwE
Well, On e-bay I ordered a lot of 3 D106p NOS and three D-204 condensers all for under $70.00 ....(-: looking for a Voltage regulator, no part number on its case but it has a 32-amp alternator. My alternator looks like brand new but the regulator may be original as the case cover has splotches of rust pitting. I plan to buy a replacement and keep my old one for spare parts.

If possible, check the condensers before install. Many multimeters have a setting for this..........but if not there is a quick test using resistance setting. You want to make sure they are not grounded to the case.
My Fluke meter has such a test setting, but I also have a separate capacitor testing meter as well. Used for both home and auto and HVAC work. Most home HVAC techs have these meters........maybe you have a friend that does this work.
