Took about an hour. Pretty easy.... I have done the job twice before though on different C4's Ive owned..... Before removal, clean the channel really well with a detail spray or just a damp rag. When you pull the old one be ready for the creamy tan grease to drip a bit... have an old sheet or something laying in the cargo area to cover the carpet... Dont clean the old grease off.... it will aid in the installation of the new one. Clean up any grease that you can see with some mineral spirits.

Yes, I would not use either metal gears or pellets. They are designed to be a wear item. The job is no fun, but I just replaced them with plastic. If we keep our C4s long enough, we'll need to do this again.
Ok so for the longest time I’ve heard of guys replacing the gears and pellets with brass. You’re saying this is bad. I’m guessing if the gears don’t go, they will wipe something else out more important. Can you please explain? Mine are good now but it’s inevitable and I’d like to know for when my time comes.
Nice! Are those the 96 GS and CE calipers? You don’t happen to have PN’s for them do you? My 95 has J55’s but I was thinking of trying to find a pair while strolling Carlisle this year.
Everything mentioned above + this somewhat generic for all Saginaw tilt columns should be useful for reassembly of some of the components, it's NOT a C4 SIR column but once you're into it it can certainly be useful. A correct FSM to reference from time to time should also help.
That's what I'm trying to get rid of heat hopefully now if I could just get the fans to come on earlier or figure out how to reprogram them that would be awesome. Heard something about burning a prom. Not sure what that is. Nice car just seems like it's getting a little too hot new Dewitt's radiator fans thermostat hood vents still wants to creep in stop and go traffic
Heater core.... I did the heater core. Was not my favorite job, however, it is not as bad as I thought. Though, I did find an abandoned mouse nest from the previous owner. Was fun when the nest dropped out of knee holster and made quite a mess. Haha

It's not easy but not impossible. Here's a thread I made to walk you through a '92. Not sure how much is different on a '94 but it might help. Illustrated, annotated and otherwise organized.
