I have a 1998 Chevrolet Corvette 5.7 engine, C5.
I'm trying to figure out where the (VSS) Vehicle Speed Sensor is located. I'm aware that it is suppose to be located on the differential, but I have combed the area completely, and I'm still at a loss.

What makes you think it needs replaced?
Post your codes....
The wire connection from the sensor to the PCM was broken, and I'm not sure where to pin it.
If I could locate the sensor, I can work with it.
I know my wire codes and colors, just need the location of the senor on the vehicle itself.
Thanks
Thanks man! This is it!
The pictures and codes for the PCM was exactly what I was needing.
You are the only one out of so many that has placed me exactly where I need to be. You are a life saver and are most definitely a real Vette man.
Can't thank you enough!
Please let me know if I can help you anytime.

It's on the top passenger side. Good chance you can't see it, but you can get your hand in there to feel it. There's a 10mm bolt holding it in.
I pulled the wires out of the plug the 1st time I dropped the drivetrain. Made the pigtail a little longer and no issues since.
Thank you, this information was on the money, so helpful.
Please be sure to keep in touch with me, if you need answers, maybe I can help you someday.

Thank you so much, just what I needed, the pic's and diagrams of the Blue and Red connectors with the codes listed, was exactly what I needed.
Please keep in touch, let me know if I can ever be of help to you.

Sorry for the resurrection, but this thread helped me gain the confidence to just go for it myself on the VSS replacement. There were no DIY videos so I made one, here's a link for anyone who wants to watch.
