NAVTOOL...WOW, all I can say is I won't buy anything from them
So I read through all the NAVTOOL threads on this forum and I saw all the problems with them in the past. Nevertheless, I was interested on one of their products: Part Number: GMBOX3.0+GMMLX "CHEVROLET CORVETTE 2014-2017 VIDEO-IN-MOTION, DVD-IN-MOTION, AUX VIDEO-IN-MOTION, NAVIGATION-IN-MOTION, CONTROL-IN-MOTION" I couldn't find any information on this unit, only the infamous HDMI mirroring unit.
Here is the description right from their page next to a picture of the unit and below the part number: "This interface lets you add Front View Camera, Left and Right Lane Watch Cameras multiple camera switching. Unlocks Video-In-Motion, DVD-In-Motion, AUX Video-In-Motion, Navigation-In-Motion, Control-In-Motion."
http://www.navtool.com/chevrolet-cor...interface.aspx
Sounds like a good deal, but I wanted to see what was involved in installing and operating the unit. They do not post their manuals on their website and insist that you e-mail them for a copy, yet they never sent me the instructions for this unit despite repeated requests over several days, so I called to see if they could answer my questions. The person who answered the phone said "that is a generic description and does not represent the actual unit. If you want to add a front camera you need the other unit." (Part Number: NAVMLX3.0-HDMI+GMMLX) I went back and forth with him a few times and told him that the description was very misleading as it clearly said "This interface lets you add Front View Camera" He insisted that I was mistaken and that he wasn't a web designer and couldn't do anything about it. I asked him to contact their web designer to correct the page and he again insisted that I was mistaken and the description was not for this actual unit, so I got frustrated and hung up. Am I missing something here?

Hey they changed the description! Didn't seem to be a language issue, but at least they changed the description to an accurate one. Saved me $200. I was looking for a unit that added a front camera and unlocked the navigation in motion. I guess it doesn't exist.

Doesn't unlock the navigation. That's one thing I was looking for along with the front camera, that's why I was interested in the other NAVTOOL unit, bit apparently it wasn't accurately described until now. Thanks!

It looks like they've updated the page, because it seems pretty clear now that there are 2 distinct systems.
Part # NAVMLX3.0-HDMI+GMMLX which is the original one many of us received earlier this year to add front and side cameras and does SmartPhone mirroring.
Then there is this new system with Part #GMBOX3.0+GMMLX that does not do the SmartPhone mirroring, nor does it add the camera capability; it just unlocks those items in the OEM Nav system that are locked when the vehicle is in motion and that's all, as I read it.
If anyone is looking for the HDMI version that does the SmartPhone mirroring and will let you add front and side cameras, I'm selling mine for $150.00. (PM me if you're interested). It works fine, I just decided to do the MyLink upgrade to be able to use Apple CarPlay for Nav and don't need the NavTool to monitor my IPhone anymore.

I got burned by NavTool. Take a look at the Better Business Bureau reviews.....everything they say is true. They have an ' F ' rating with BBB.
Stay clear of those guys.

Not doubting you at all, but a year old thread? Really?
However, I bought. Actually many have bought. It works. No problems so far.

I hate to say it....but it's true. It's been a horrendous experience dealing with them.
Just try cancelling or returning an un-opened order.
Best advice for an independent opinion is to look at the complaints against them online at the Better Business Bureau. My experience with them is the same as many others.

Just to add,
Some folks here were fine with them. Caveot Emptor!
- They are liars.
- They are banned from this forum because of their business malpractice. They were as official vendor.
- They never shipped my unit, I disputed the charge, they lied to the CC company and said it was shipped, but they could not provide any tracking number - maybe because they lied and never shipped? Took 5 months to resolve the dispute in my favor.
- They would troll this site and post all kinds of lies under various identities.

I had a very positive experience with them. My daughter bought me the Navtool as a 2016 Christmas present. She inadvertently ordered one for a C6 instead of my C7.
Called them up and got an RMA and they sent out the correct unit, even though the person that bought it was not me or at my address. EZPZ.
The documentation for installation is a little sketchy, but that's what Elmer is for. , Elmer.

I ordered one two weeks ago, and received it in 3 days. Programed it per Elmer's thread, installed it and it works perfectly. I am totally impressed by it . Much better than the curb alert and Wi-Fi camera set up I had. The mirror feature is great as well.

I'm glad you guys didn't get burned by them......maybe he just likes to screw over Canadians. I know I am out $300+ , almost a month has passed, and despite my request for a cancellation......all my calls / messages / emails are ignored......and I don't have my money or the product.

WAYYYYY too much controversy to even consider using them! I believe vendors that are customer oriented usually have mostly if not all good write-ups! Plain and simple. Why take a chance?
just my .02 cents.
