Default courtesy lamps

Hello there all,
I was wondering if anyone could help me find the missing half of the courtesy lamps wiring diagram 8A-53 that i currently have, as I have come across a short in the wiring somewhere that is blowing the crtsy fuse.
I recently replaced the drivers side headlamp gear because it too shorted out and kept opening and closing on its own.
I finally have a day off on saturday and would like to troubleshoot it and it definitely would be easier with the WHOLE wiring diagram.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. 1985 light and dark Bronze.

Thank you

Explain exactly what you're interested in and maybe posting the 1/2 of whatever you say you have!!

Your reference to 8A-53 "hints" that's a "cell" in a GM FSM but there were no cell references in the '85 FSM and I've never seen any 8A-53 cell in any C4 FSM.

Post# 2 is what an '85 FSM should appear as.

Here's 8A-53 from my '84 FSM. Probably the same circuitry as the '85 FSM, but maybe the '85 has corrections!

The diagram displays just fine on my computer. What device and version are you using?

I didn't look in any "older" C4 FSM - I did't believe the '85 had a 8A-xx cell arrangement so I checked randomly for "newer" and there were none. I believe anything '86 or newer will NOT have an 8A-53 reference.

It appears that in '84 it's only a page reference and NOT a cell!!

OP = do you actually have an '85 FSM that references 8A-53?

OP - here's the "other half" of 8A-53 it's page 8A-52 from the '84 FSM. Will it help? I've absolutely no idea!

Thanks again to all who posted to help me out.
The short was in a wire leading up to the trouble lights underneath the hood.

A couple of fuses later and some new wiring and shrink tube and i'm good to go vroom vroom.

Chow for now!!

Nice work as I have followed the thread.
Also the Forum thanks you for writing up the end result and to what the problem was.

I disconnected my hood lights years ago as when it open, it stays open for long periods of time and don’t want to worry about pulling down the battery and don’t need that little bit of light.
