Sour odor
Just started my C7 after sitting all winter and a strong sour odor is coming from the vent...it smells like wet paint. My first thought was a mouse got into the system but I know what a dead mouse smells like and if it is a mouse it's not dead?

Flood the cabin air intake with Lysol, filter out, HVAC on fresh air, then turn to heater, windows down and let it run for 5 minutes or more.
That is if there is no mices
I fight it on mine and wife's Camry, my ole Tundra no problem.
Lots of other ways but so far this has worked for me

There are HVAC system cleaners that you can use. I think someone makes a kit that is sprayed directly into the evaporator core box that kills the mold and bacteria that is causing the oder. There are aerosols that you can spray into the fresh air cowel vent that has been pretty successful.

Make sure that after blow is activated on your HVAC system. That turns the HVAC fan on 20 or 30 minutes after you shut off the car and helps dry out the moisture that condenses on the evaporator fins.
