Tyrus is going to use this under his current 1972. If using a 68 frame you will want to look for a later frame with kickup reinforcements to support it or add those if your frame does not have it. The 73 will be close but the front will be different and will have to be modified. Ideal (in my opinion) would be a 69-72 frame.
Tyrus, share if you want a removable transmission cross member like the automatics use, or if you want a fixed cross member like the manual cars use, or if you do not care and will consider either.
Questions you will want answered with any frame offered should include:
1) Has the frame been measured and shown to be straight?
2) Has the frame been block gauged to make sure it is not twisted?
3) Is there any rot or rust through on the frame? If yes, where?
4) What are the condition of the eight body mounts?
5) Has the frame been hit, any evidence of damage? If yes, where?
6) If restored, what was replaced, what was restored, what is the finish on the frame? (Paint, POR-15, Powder Coat).
7) If restored, was the inside of the frame treated as well? If yes, which product was used and how was it applied?
With those answers from prospective sellers you should be able to narrow what you will be getting for the prices being offered.
Good luck with your search, there are frames out there that can help you with your needs.
Best regards,
