2019 Z06 cooling enhancements?
From what I read here on this forum, the cooling enhancements done on '17 &'18 Z06's were not all that effective to cure the overheating/heat soak problem. Looks like on the '19 ZR1 they went all out to cure the problem. Has anyone heard if there will be a further enhancement to this issue on '19 Z06's that has plagued the C7 Z06 on the track since it's introduction?

Finalist 2020 C7 of the Year -- Unmodified
Gary, maybe the 2019 Z06 will get the ZR1'S front nose which would be a smart move by GM to get future Z06 buyers who don't have the money to buy a C7 ZR1.

The ZR1 front fascia along with it's cooling components would be a great move. I doubt that will happen as it might take away ZR1 sales.

Since the over heating issue is really only impacting A8 owners that track their cars there isn't a large number of cars affected. The best solution for them is to find a place to mount a cooler similar to the M7 Secondary Radiator that brings A8 cooling capacity in line with the M7 cars.

nope, that's not going to happen. If GM updates the Z06 front end, it will be a clear admission of defect and will be force to fix the previous year Z. GM has always denied overheating issue and rather pay the lawsuits than do a recall all the Z06.

I hope they don't do it for a different reason: I think the new ZR1 front end looks like crap, with too many angles, lines, and materials.

they never changed the charger. All the they did was put a taller lid to help the cooling fins which didn't work. Basically they try to cheap out and put bandaid over the problem instead of fixing it correctly.

The temperature climbed to what? Some temperature rise would be expected. Did it go into reduced power mode?

GM also knows that enough of the people here that want to dump their Z06 will line up to get the ZR1. If they solved nothing then all the complaining will begin just in time for the C8 to take the stage.

Melting Slicks
Almost all street cars will overheat at the track if pushed hard enough. This is doubly true if track tires, hi-po brakes, etc., are added to the car so that limits and stresses on the car increase. One of the first mods people make if they plan to track any car hard is to increase cooling capacity.
