Corsa Sport to stock exhaust questions
Just drove my 2010 MT base coupe home from the dealer. I love everything about the car including the exhaust note but It's too loud for my wife who has tinnitis [ringing in the ears].
I started looking on this forum for a used stock system [non NPP] and quickly realized I needed to know:
Do the LS2 and LS3 share the same cat back exhaust systems?
Does it matter whether it's from an automatic or a car with the Z51 option?
Nobody seems to want to ship their stock exhausts because of the expense. Are there any Corvette specific wrecking yards in the Pacific NW?
Thanks for any answers or guidance you can offer.

2008 will Not fit.
You need to find a 2009 - 2013 muffler setup.
There is a caveat....
If you also get the 2005-2008 mid-pipe with the 2005 - 2008 mufflers, it's a straight bolt-on to your 2010.
Personally I'd look for an NPP set up. It'll be quiet when cruising around with your wife in the car and then loud if you're out by yourself and decide to have a bit of fun.

LS2/3 main cats are the same from '05 - '13 and bolt to any year mid-pipe.

I'd bet there's someone in the PNW who will do an even swap for your exhaust. Post in the regional subforum here and also try Craigslist.
If that doesn't work, order a couple of the most quiet MagnaFlow mufflers they recommend and have a local exhaust shop chop off the Corsas and weld on the new ones. It might not be OE quiet, but it will be "better."

Thanks for all the information. I'm afraid I got a little a head of myself on what's actually under the car. I need to check underneath to see whether it's an axle back or cat back Corsa system.
My understanding is that an axle back system would be a simple bolt on swap for the 09-13 stock mufflers. If it's a cat back system I would need a stock mid pipe. Correct?
I'm assuming the stock muffler would be much quieter inside the cabin since so many reviewers complained. The noise under load when accelerating at lower rpm's is the main culprit.
Thanks again for helping this newbie.

I agree, this is your best solution. By an aftermarket setup with NPP, sell your Corsa's to recoup the cost. I have Akrapovic Evo with NPP and headers on my 2008 Z06. The only time I activate the NPP is when the wife is in the car.
