Turning that page
Guys and gals,
Just want to take the time to thank this forum and ALL its members who over the years have schooled me on the inner workings of my/our passion, the '65 Corvette. What a great run of enjoyment as well as gnashing of the teeth I've had owning this '5.
She's up for sale. This decision on my part was not a "light switch". My wife and I are in good health (thanks to Him). The more I thought about it, I wanted to be a player when I passed the baton to the new owner. I did not want to have my wife or sons do this. I just think the new owner would have my insight (if he/she chooses) on all aspects of our '5. What a great run of enjoyment we've had!
Here's a link to the for sale ad here:
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...nt-driver.html
Not certain what I'll step into next. We'll see.
Just a note of THANKS to the forum AND its members here!
Regards
Jim & Mary

Your car is a first class example of a well sorted out '65. I wish you smooth running with the next name plate. Dennis

Thanks guys! You know, next to wrenchin' and driving her, this forum truly was and is my safety net. I've met a few of you guys over the years and that has been nothing but positive. You can bet I'll still lurk here and, when possible, offer my.02.

Jim, I know that was a tough decision to make. Congrats on taking great care of it for 37 years. I know the new owner will get a great car.
Thanks for being a great forum member and an even better person. Good luck with all of life's experiences. God bless you and your family.

BEST to you and your wife. I’m sure it was a very, very difficult decision for both of you. Looked at your video and what a beautiful ‘65. Hit home for me because it’s the same color as my ‘66. Best of luck to you both. You will always have the memories.

Only a MotorCity man would use the term "turn the page."
But a reminder that we can't keep 'em forever.
Hoping you'll stay 'round to share thoughts on your pages that follow.
And look forward to seeing you and Mary over the summer, too!
Why don't you two consider one last road trip up the 401 to Toronto? Be delighted to host you both.
We're doing the Motor Muster at Greenfield on Father's Day and then the Carlisle Chevy Nationals in June. This weekend we opened our Airstream for the season, so will check in with you both next week.

This is sad but I am sure you have thought it out many times. I am glad to have met you back in 2015 and you really have a nice car. Consider a nice C5-C7. They are a lot of car for the money and great to travel with. Take care and come back to visit with us.

Jim, I have been thinking about this myself for a couple years for the EXACT same reasons you made your decision. We've been retired 3 years, are both healthy and love to travel, which leaves less and less time to enjoy the '66. My son is into modern muscle (he has a 2017 50th Anniversary Camaro) and likes driving the Vette once in a while, but he doesn't have any interest in owning it. Selling it would definitely give our travel budget a boost. Probably will make a decision this winter. --Mark

Paul,
That's funny and on point...love that man Seger! Say hi to Jennie. Thank you for your invite! We'll see. We'll be here. How's the truck resto coming?
elwood13,
I know you're relatively new to this forum but see you are savvy on these cars. You've joined the best support net on the planet for these passions of ours. Thank you.
MarkC,
Feeling is mutual Mark. Yup, this decision did not come easy but believe for me, it's the right one. Yup, maybe down the road a C6 GS might light my fire. I'll be in the neighborhood guys
