The transmission ratios are identical. The rear end in the GS is 2.73 and in the Z06 is 2.41.

You mean 2.73 std. and 3.41 with eDiff on GS
Z06 have only 3.41

as far as i could find out on GMs web page.

GS with a 3.73 and A8 would be fun together with 650 NA horsepower 417 LPE or Katech 703 HP 427 😃😃

The A8 GS comes with a 2.73
The A8 Z06 comes with a 2.41
Those are the standard ratios and there are no options.

OK thanks

I read GMs build your own car different....

guess a 2.73 in a GS means quicker get go than 2.41 ... IF both have the same tq and power...

3.41 must be manual for both?

Don't mean to hijack your thread but can the manual 3.41 be substituted in the A8 differential?

just the carrier/gear? Or whole differential? From what I am hearing diff swap should work and can change calibration number to make new diff elsd to work properly

According to the specs, my 2019 Grand Sport, A8, has a 3.42 e-limited slip rear. Also checked 2019 GS for sale and it appears on the window sticker of other new Grand Sports for sale. Sound right?

only the manual transmission C7s would have the 3.42. The A8 has a 2.73

Entire diff assembly, a8 has been converted to 3.42 and at least 1 m7 was converted to a 2.73

Looking like a 3300.00ish proposal at my local dealer(trusted mechanic there).. that is with new rear diff installed. He said he could reprogram the cal# from the rear diff and ESD should work fine. Just debating if the cash outlay is worth the performance gains. Do we have anyone who has quantifiable results from the 3.42 swap on the A8 setup?

I believe Robert Miller has done the 3.42 a8
C7&7 has done the 2.73 m7

No, trans gearing is the same, so 1:1 gear is still 6th gear. Rear gear is different.. 2.41 vs 2.73 in the GS/Z51. Many dyno in 5th gear because some dynos/operators will not go that fast.. or feel its unsafe. 5th gear will show around 20-25rwhp less than 6th.
