Default tranmission problems

my 2005 c6 automatic has lost 3rd and 4th gear. shifts ok from 1st to 2nd, but then just rpm spin up after that. looking to rebuild. where can i order a rebuild kit. and if i put same unit back in will it need any type tune or reprogram .

05 A4 trans has the TCM by the ECM, not in the trans like on the A6.
So no TCM reprogramming will be needed.

As for trans kits, RPM will have all the parts you need.

Just keep in mind that your going to need some special tools to rebuilt the trans.

I have a 2010 automatic and when I going to paddle shift mode it seems like it takes a very long time to shift is anyone else experienced this condition?? Eight shifts just fine in sport mode no lag??

Did you firmware flash the 2010 TCM with the correct firmware to start with when you dropped it into a 2005 car?

This is a 2010 car and has not been altered . Tt is the was it cam from the factory . What is the T.C.M ??? I am guessing it's the transmission control module???

There where hardware and software upgrade in the 2012 A6 to get to the trans to shift better/faster, but you can't flash that newer firmware into older TCM/transmission control module in older C6's.

So to get better shifting, need to have the trans after market tuned instead.
As for better, will improve the shifts to make them faster/firmer, but will never get the A6 trans to downshift as fast as a sequential transmission instead.
