Default ZO6 Spark Plug Wires

I had headers installed about a year ago. Long story short one of the plugs has been in full contact with the driver's side header the entire time. It hasn't melted but I know it's not right. Install guy said they all do it. They are the original stock wires.Do I need wires with bendable boots? Recommendations please. Thanks.

Your "install guy" is either lazy or dumb. You need an air gap between your headers, coated or not, and your plug boots/wires. If you don't, your wires will eventually fail. Just a matter of time. Get different wires with bendable boots, period. I don't run the "lava sleeves" on my Firecore wires, but I have an air gap between the boots and my coated headers so there's no issue.

So the firecore are bendable? How much and who carries them? Thanks

Also get some good spark plug boot insulators. Katech makes some good ones.

I had new OEM set put on when they swapped my heads, two weeks later one cylinder started missing, no check engine lights, put the set of MSD wires back on and everything was fine. The new OEM set had bad crimp, I like the MSD set

MSD is hit/miss.... ( no pun intended) Just insure that they ohm out.... Misfire/Detonation is not your friend.

I recently put a set of Taylor Thundervolt plug wires on and the wire for cylinder 6 kept hitting my 2" ARH headers and here is the result. Summit warrantied them and I bought a set of Hinson wires and they were too short. I ended up with these Taylor wires since the boot is smaller than the Thundervolt wires and they are slightly longer. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/tay-92045

I have the firecore wires with the higher temp boots he offers with my 2" art headers. Well worth the extra 30 bucks and they are bendable to an extent

My #6 cylinder is the problem for me . The plug boots is in constant contact. Could you please post a pic of your #6 boot?
