Starter solenoid little piece broke
This little ear broke off while I was trying to tighten the back solenoid wire. There is no hole or crack but wanted to know if it would cause a problem? Thought about gluing it but didn't know if that would work - would it ignite etc?

That is there to keep the wires from touching in case of loosening from vibration. If the wires never touch there is no problem. I realize that starter removal is a PIA on a complete car ( I am faced with this today on my truck if the starter switch isn't the problem ) but I know that NAPA sells the solenoid for around 15.00. I haven't priced the Delco ones. For peace of mind, I would replace the part. If the wires touch you are looking at being stranded and or wire harness melting. I wouldn't trust glue too hot down there

Leave it as-is. Not worth the trouble to glue it together. If you work down there, disconnect the battery first. Then make sure those solenoid wires are separated.
That "guard" is there so the assemblers at the factory couldn't leave them in contact when they got sloppy (like on Friday afternoon or on Monday morning).
