My little, 1st time Vette owner, thread about nothing
About my 2014 Z51 3LT TR/AR A6 ZF1 MRC NPP daily driver; just getting to know the car that I thought I would never own.
I require a particularly specific cockpit to be comfortable and thought I would get myself a nice CTS-V this year. I have several cars and have terrible back, neck, left leg and right shoulder/arm pain (thanks to gravity, genetics and way too many car/bike wrecks) when driving most vehicles as my spine and well body overall is quite abused. As my commute has increased from 25 minutes, to an average of 2 hours round trip I am no longer able to tolerate driving my Honda unFit, Legacy GT, SVXs or GMC. My bike is way out of the question now too. I sat in a prime Z51 when helping get my little lady friend a new car last winter and thought it was amazing, everything was where it should be and felt perfect for me, so I test drove an SS and loved everything but the power. My 4 banger (modded Legacy GT Limited) was way faster so I decided against it. The chump-*** sales guy, decided to not let me test drive the C7 and I then turned to a different dealer who had a V that looked quite nice. I drove the CTS-V and loved the power, but on that short test drive I didn't get a great feel for anything at all. The power was addictive and had me hunting for a V for the majority of the year. After finding a nice looking V in Houston I drove 3 hours, spent 6 hours with it as the sales guy was quite legit, and ultimately decided that I just hated the seats, two toned Recaros which were beautiful, so I went to eat and remembered how I loved the ergonomics of the Z51 I sat in 10 months ago and decided to ask for the keys to this sexy-*** red Vette that I had been eyeballing the entire day. My back said yes to it but my wallet said NO! lol I test drove it, got stuck in a school zone behind a bus and it took me 30 minutes to go about 1 mile. Stupid Houston traffic. I then spent over a week reading up, on this site mostly, and decided that I wanted that car. in the meantime Carmax was nice enough to get me 3 other C7 models to test drive and I spent a good 5 hours sitting in and driving them. The Z51, non mag ride, was the most comfy with 30k on it, which rode way better than the 2019 base car, so I decided that the cars break in well and confirmed that they fit me well enough that I had almost no pain associated with being in the drivers seat. I was then sold on the C7s! So much for the Caddy I had been drooling over for a few years now. lol
As a testament to my gut felt decision in buying a C7, I drove it to my farm which is a 14+ hour drive, and I was rewarded with a fun car to drive as well as being able to not only take the drive without issue but more importantly I got out of the car at my destination and felt great! I haven't felt that good after a 25+ minute drive in at least 15 years! I usually lay across the fender/hood (mobile inversion table? lol) of my cars for a while multiple times on long road trips to avoid getting out and falling over and hardly being able to walk. I now have 2 cars going up for sale! lol
I would like to formally thank this site and its host of friendly and informative members, despite a couple of bad apples who like to wear their *** as a hat, for the service they provide and the hospitality and wealth of knowledge provided here. Thanks for having me, putting up with my questions, and please enjoy my pictures.
(I don't use a cloud so I will be putting my C7 pics up on here with comments when needed. Please feel free to comment when needed, otherwise this will just be for my own reference. TY)

I have a few basic tools. lol
Where did those sockets? lol
welding table with storage underneath
Lego after the front lip was eaten by road debris.

The CTS-V that I thought I was going to buy. The power was amazing but the seats and MPG were horrid. I underestimated how shitty the recaros could be and would never own them. EVER The Corbeau and Next seats I have in other cars are so much better that it is just silly!
Brace face! lol
Love the CF1 package on TR C7s

Thanks guys. I will be lightly modifying as I go along, but this isn't the season for car work as it is cold and raining. I did get to wash it this weekend, and it rained with 0% chance of rain in the forecast. lol

Windows tinted at 35%. Installed a set of Power Stop Z26 pads to cut down on the dust. Got the aero plate mounted, thanks to a nice forum member who already painted it CF and clear coated it. Replaced the stock lug nuts with powder coated forged steel ones that have red anodized Al inserts. I applied the hood stinger, which wasn't all that fun, and put on the stingray style side skirts. The skirts sucked as all of the holes were in the wrong locations and it took me way too long to get everything lined up properly by myself. I think it looks nice now though. Next up is getting the halo wrap in carbon flash. I don't have it yet but found a place that sells it for $61 shipped. I might buy some of that knifeless tape and try making my own just for the experience. The car has a full clear wrap on it so I am not sure how well the vinyl will stick to it. Only one way to find out. lol I have some dark tint overlays for the side reflectors/lights that I need to put on later this week. I go to work at 4:25am and get home from work at 6:15 pm so it is dark when I leave and when I get home.

MRR M755 wheels going on before an alignment. Check out the sunken alignment rack. They decided the area had a lot of sports cars when they built the shop 2 years ago so they installed the first flush with the floor alignment rack in the region.
more to follow when it's daylight again.

This is the first vehicle that I have bought with black wheels and after looking at every picture in the Torch Red thread, all eleven pages, I actually decided I liked black on this car since it has the CF1 package and exposed carbon roof. I was really wanting a set of chrome wheels for the car actually. lol That is what led me to finding the MRR wheels that I liked the look of, which turns out are styled after the ZR1. I haven't gotten a chance to take a good pic of the car with them yet, but I plan to soon. Next up is blacking out the braces and tinting the fender markers and then on to power mods, like TB, headers and x-pipe.

It's funny to me that more people don't take their seating position seriously! Ergonomically speaking most people drive in terrible seating positions and many manufacturers don't allow proper steering column angles when you're seated comfortably. Proper seating positions are crucial to comfort to reduce driver fatigue and the C7 has done really well in this area IMHO. I tell everyone there's a lot of research in seating like a race driver or a fighter pilot so you can stay alert and in reasonable comfort for long durations.
Congrats on your purchase!
