Default 2004 ride height

Is there a way to get my 2004 riding higher. Can I adjust the ride height by changing tire size or suspension parts
Thanks

Is it currently at factory height?

Congrats pm your C5/ If the car feels low, that is because it IS low. These cars are very low to begin with.

I know they are low but our roads in Alberta are terrible. I know that corvette owners are not impressed with me trying to get a little more clearance. I want to do this without compromising the handling of the car. Even a half an inch helps and I was hoping someone had done this. I am looking at tire size but am not sure of the clearance. .

My first question would be
1. how long have you owned the car?
2. the car may already be lowered by a previous owner. If so you could bring it back up.
3. A photo of the car would help us determine wheel well clearance.
The first thing I would do is find out if the car has been lowered, then see if anything is wrong with the suspension. A delaminated Mono -spring.?

Yes, a pic would help determine if it's been lowered. Snap straight on to the wheel to fender gap.

Look at the pictures on reply #4, mine is red, you can see it appears lower than the white C5. Fender lip to top of tire, also air dam to ground.

Also I took off the 2 corner dam pieces, the driver's side one kept getting pulled down going in and out of the driveway.

Now it doesn't make the scraping noises backing out and dropping over rounded curb.

In fact other areas on street it's better too, but I still have to baby it on dips and speed bumps.

Thanks for the info.. Mine looks lowered. Car originally came from California so it was probably lowered there. Lowering a car in Alberta does not make sense. We have some of the worst roads in North America.

I copied this info off the forum a while back as I will be installing coil overs and would like to keep my height about the same.
If the measurements are wrong I think ET or Bill will let us know ;^)

"Roughly if your car is in the 28" to 29" height range measured from the ground to the "top" (highest) point of the fender wheel well then you're likely at OEM ride height. If you're closer to mid 27" to 27" inch then you've likely been lowered slightly. You will likely see minor measuring variances from side to side due to corner weight"

This link is about lowering but raising the height should just be the reverse...........

Good luck,

Definitely in the front. It's not slammed in the back, but it does appear a bit lower than mine which is at stock height.

That C5 has been lowered all the way around. Take a picture of the bolts so we can determine if you have aftermarket bolts or not, they are at the end of each monoleaf front and rear.. My c5 had aftermarket bolts in the rear and was slammed, rode like total garbage. I left the front as it was lowered on stock bolts, but replaced the rears and lowered it on stock rear bolts. Check to see if you have coil overs, maybe you got lucky.

If you have 18's 17's, that car has been lowered beyond being lowered on stock bolts (without trimming stock rubber stoppers)

Found out car had 18 and 19 inch rims. Obviously were changed by a former owner. Managed to get car higher by adjusting
the stock bolts. Way better

Good job raising because your car was definitely lower than stock in your picture.

If that is your Spiral grey vert it appears to have larger wheels on it.Stock wheels are 17 front 18 rear. You might have 18 and 19 on there so check out your wheel size first. Also you may be able to raise the height with the ride height adjustment bolts which is an easy fix.
