Anyone re-gear rear end? What are your stories?
I have had several motorcycles that would all do 187mph (300 kph). I determined on all of them that I did not need or want to go that fast often enough to use that tall gearing. I would usually re-gear them so it would accelerate faster an be more fun to wheelie. I cannot see myself going over 160 mph in my Z an I would like to flirt with 10s in the 1/4. What is necessary for a rear gear swap? What kind of success or bad stories do you guys have to share. I am not concerned with losing some mpg.

Really... Nobody has nothing to say or add? What is the driving difference between stock gears, 3.73, an 3.90? I have read that just going to 3.73 is not worth it but seems like 3.90 would be a lot. I just would like a gear ratio not as tall as the 3.42.

Use "search". There are 3.90 and 4.10 gears available for the Z06 dif, just became available in the last few months.

I can tell you that the 3.90's I put in my old C5 was one of the best mods I did to that car. Made 6th gear useable on the freeway, improved acceration in every gear.
I liked them so much I bought a set for the C6 Z - just haven't pulled the diff to install them yet.
