You would be looking at $1,300 to $1,500 for OEM HUD laminated glass installed. Probably about $400 off for non-OEM. I would personally call my insurance and submit a claim and get OEM.

If it's only a couple inches, you could have a windshield repair guy drill a hole at the end of the crack and inject resin to stop the cracking. It makes the crack nearly invisible and you won't have do deal with possible damage from replacing the windshield. It is usually covered by insurance because they would rather pony up $100 than over a thousand for a new windshield. If it doesn't work, you can always replace the windshield. Again, it depends on the type and size of your damage. I have had that done on one of my Vettes and my Range Rover.

If you have Comprehensive Insurance it will cover the glass replacement and Comp Claims don't make your rates go up.

Since Comp Insurance isn't very expensive hopefully you have low deductible Comp Insurance.

Just had mine done in the UK this week.... £1600 ($2000+)! Luckily the insurance covered it with and excess of £115 to pay.

I think once the crack starts to form it is too late to fix this way. I had them tell me that as long as a dollar bill covers the crack it can be fixed but the crack will still be noticeable. The time to do this is as soon as you get the star.....I have one on my truck from the day after I picked it up new. A highly raked windshield is far less prone to breakage than say a truck windshield so if it cracked it is stressed.

I second what Bill says, but i think it matters what state you are in... meaning you will have to pay a deductible in many states to file that claim. Florida, it is free. Crack glass, its a known fact your insurance company has to cover it for free and your rates stay the same, no deductible needs to be paid for glass. What state do you live?

No need to spend that much on an OEM branded glass if you don't want to .

Just ask for a AGC branded glass as this is the OEM manufacturer of all the C7 glass , $300 to $400 cheaper .

All you are paying for with an OEM branded windshield is the GM branding in the corner.

Same glass , same interlayer , same tooling made on the same line ...
