Default 1967 327/300hp engine suffix

I’m looking at a 67. The 327 engine stamp VIN looks correct. My question is the suffix. The stamp reads V0202HE. The HE from what I’ve read is 1965, but I’ve also read GM reused suffixes. Maybe I’m being overly precautionary but I want to make sure this is correct. The car is pretty original, but I just want to make sure. Any help is appreciated! Car was built March 8, 1967 according to the plate. (G08)

HE is the correct suffix for a 1967 300 h.p.with 4 speed but unfortunately the beginning character for the stamp you show should be “F.”

One advantage ot the lower HP engines is that there is less incentive to "fake" them, so far your numbers line up...

Hello. Looking for numbers on my 1961 Corvette. Understand that it is not an original 283 engine but a 327. On engine castingnumber 3782870 and J112 so oktober 1962. Number on the head are given data J42 so 62-oct-4. Ignition has 2K3 so 62-nov-03. And the Carter carburator J2 so 1962. On the engine block right front block is stamped F I0 I3 RB. I understand from your forum that F= Flint I0 = October I3 = 13th. But what means RB. Reading the forum for many hours but I cannot find the info. Any help?

RB is a 327/300 manual trans with a 4 barrel carb from a 62-63 full size car.

starting a new thread would have been better for more results

Thanx for reply. I am new to the forum and not familiar with the set up. But I will learn by doing.
How to find the production year of the block? The ancilliars are all 62.

So I have a Corvette C1 birthday November 1960, model C1 model 1961 and engine october 1962.
Up to the next step before starting restoration. The official importing/ registration by the governement.

On first blush I think it looks good, but agree that I would sure like to see pics of a few others that went across the line close to same time....

The partial VIN on the front pad tells you the motor was originally installed in a 1967 vehicle. The date stamp tells you it is a Flint block, assembled on March 17. The MS tells you that it was a 350 cu. in. / 295 hp, with a 4 barrel carburetor and manual transmission installed in a Camaro.

a Nova would have its own unique block. And I don't believe Novas where made at Norwood Ohio

Also,
For the 1967 model year, the 350 was exclusive to the Camaro SS350. Nova, Truck, Corvette, full-size and Chevelles did not get the 350 engines until the 1968 model year.
