Hello and sorry for the C-2 newbie question.
Does a 1965 convertible have inside courtesy lights?
I see no door switch for activating such.
My head lamp switch has a counter clockwise position to turn on interior lights.
I just took possession Saturday so still learning.
I came out of a 1968 so this is new ground for me.
Thank you in advance.
Marshal
Hi Marshall - Just took a few pics of my 66 Roadster and your 65 will have the same inside courtesy lights and activators.
Open the doors and look inside the pocket of the upper door hinge and there will be the spring loaded switch that activates all three lights, one #90 above each kick panel and a single #90 on the rear bulkhead.
If they aren't there, there should at least be the holes for them.

Thanks I located the driver's side and it appears the plunger is completely compressed.
Looks like further digging required.
Pictures were a big help.
Thanks,
Marshal
Hello forum,
I have located the 3 interior courtesy bulb sockets. All bulbs are removed by PO.
I ordered a new pair of jamb switches and 3 # 90 bulbs from long island corvettes.
My question is the rear storage area bulb on the underside is awful close to the underside carpet. I’m a little concerned as these little bulbs get awfully hot in a short time.
Did the rear unit ever have a heat shield?
Seems like it would have been a good idea.
The car was built March 1, 1965.
The rear assembly looks identical to the two in the front except it’s mounted horizontally instead of vertically like the two front ones by the kick panels.
Thanks,
Marshal
Keith, I was thinking along the lines of the bulb shield on the ash tray light on a C3.
I put a bulb in the drivers side socket and it got red hot. I had to use a rag to untwist it.
The bulb is remaining on. I believe replacing the stuck switch will close the circuit.

This is for another day, But! A shutoff switch may be in your future.....for a multitude of reasons......Pretty much why I put one in.......Hate to say it but I've been known to leave a door open!!!And the bulbs can get hot!!
I am currently working on replacing my courtesy light switches because recently the interior lights will remain on when the doors are closed. The question I have is what portion of the wire New Courtesy Light Switch
do you remove without damaging it? I purchased new courtesy light switches, which also look different from what were in the car. I am personally not seeing how the connection is made with the wire in the car and the new switches.
Hi Leif, thank you for the response. I am not familiar with the "reset" process. Is there information somewhere in the forum about this process? Thanks
Open the door, take hold of the tip of the plunger on the switch and pull it out towards you as far as you can then close the door and it will automatically go to the right position if it's depressed past that position the courtesy lights won't come on, pulling it out as far as it will go and then pushing it back in with the door will reset it
do the same thing to the door plunger on the passenger side
