They clearly love the GR Corolla and GT4 RS, too. And the sound of the V10 Huracan.
I'd guess winner will be one of Corolla, GT4, and Z07.
I'm hoping the Corolla wins. I don't really care who wins, but the people who don't "get" that type of car and just care way too much will be outraged if it wins.. and that meltdown will be entertaining lol
I'm with you, smithers. I love that Toyota ignored the inevitable march toward electrification for just long enough to create a wide body hot hatch with a manual huffing 25psi of boost. For absolutely no reason other than the joy of cars.
edit: As to the Z06, we about to find out if the wait was worth it.
Anyone know how long it might be until they release the results from this year's pcoty? I'm guessing they won't be allowed to until the embargo ends?
EDIT: Sorry, don't mean to be a debbie downer bringing up the embargo, just anxious!
I was looking up previous years tests earlier... it was released in December and January in the last two years. In 2019 and 2020 it was earlier.. November. I didn't go back any further than that.
So I guess the answer is maybe in a month or three haha

Yes, duh. Sorry, the PCOTY results are usually December or January. RTFQ, my apologies.
Actually I have no idea but I think the true reason is that neither automaker would agree to a head to head of those two cars. There is no way they can be compared as the camps will never agree on a winner (see Corvetteforum historical records)
What is neat is to see the Z06 as the star of the show, and the one that everyone watches. So interesting that the GT4RS has magnesium wheels, I don't really like that metal for such things and would be interested to know the cost and expected lifespan of those. Long live the king...

That's interesting. According to the Porsche experts here, GM was scared to have the Z06 in the same room with the GT3RS and the GT3RS was going to mop the floor with it. Now it's not a stretch that it (GT3RS) won't be at C&D LL either....
The GT4RS will have to carry the banner, I suppose.

Why the dislike of magnesium for wheels? It is by far the best choice and most widely used for real race cars. They are strong, robust, light and never fail spontaneously. I have used them for years on my race car and would absolutely install those over CF or very light weight forged aluminum on my Z06.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
