Default Whipple 3.0

I emailed Whipple. But it appears that they have a 3.0 for the CTSV/ZL1. I am going to assume they do not have a specific blower for the LT4/Z06 due to the hood. I know with the 2.9 when they made it had some specific way to fit it I think it might had been a smaller lid I cannot recall.... anyways, does anyone know if you could fit the gen 5 whipple 3.0 to our cars?

Short answer, No. You'll need a modified supercharger snout and an aftermarket hood

Just seen this one Whipples Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/whipplesuperchargers/photos/a.392786762321/10159130388402322/?type=3&app=fbl
Obviously not enough info at the moment to see if or how much it would take to fit it into a C7. I wonder how much power it could make over the well proven magy 2650 if any?

Be close, maybe a touch more torque given the pack design of twin screws. They get busy on the Mustang's..

Latest on Whipple’s Facebook page. Interesting there will be multiple lid / intercooler options!…

Things massive... I remember my first time seeing the Maggy 2650, and was like whoa.. if they can tuck that thing under the hood of a C7, everything should fit 😂

I asked them if it would fit the corvette & they said it would if you modified the cowl and hood. I wonder how much hood work would need done...

Not a fan of having to hack up the hood... Especially if it's likely to be mildly inferior to the 2650s, which fit.

I do have to question Whipple choices sometimes. I mean the 3.0 gen 5 is a competitor to the 2650 which is well established across the LT platform. So why bother releasing it? Why not just make a 3.8 ltr version which will smash the 2550? Yes it might not fit the Vette but would surely sell in trucks and the Camaro world.

same as the LS, they have a front feed front drive 3.0 LS blower (arguably with less competition than the LT market) but no 3.8! Again the 3.8 on top of a LS would be mental and probably sell pretty well (trucks, Camaro, off road stuff).

Maybe Whipple just like the Ford automotive world more than the GM….

I got a response from their sales team. They intend on releasing the 3.0 in roughly 45 days. However there is no definitive timeline IF at all, for a unit specific to the C7Z. As stated, they definitely seem to cater to the Mopar and Ford side of things. It's unfortunate, I've always been a fan of whipples.

I sure hope they make one for the C7Z. I have the 2.9 and it is a rattle trap. Dustin at Whipple said they will give me a new 3.0 free of charge when it comes out. I have been waiting 2 years now, and really don't ever see getting any resolve. Maybe Magnuson will come out with a new one. Either that or I will just buy the current 2650. People seem to have really good luck with those.

They're pretty much are done with the C7.. There isn't enough room under the hood. The Camaro and CTSV are getting the support.

So, I’m looking at installing the Gen 5 3.0 Whipple on my C7 Z06 (currently have 2.9 installed) Question is hood clearance. I have CAD’s from Whipple but need help with hood clearance. The low profile lid is 1” higher than the standard 2.9 lid. The standard lid offers much better cooling to cylinders 7&8. How much clearance does the ACS ZR1 hood offer? I need 3.5” above stock C7Z06.
