FS: Doug Rippie Motorsports C500 RSR. 1 of 7, 8k Miles, Mint Condition
Those who know me are aware of my obsession with rarity and mint condition vehicles. I'm not a corvette guy but when I saw this car come up for sale I knew I had to have it and bring it back to life. Prior to my ownership, the car sat for a number of years in a climate controlled garage. The car did not run due to needing a fuel system refresh so I trailered the car straight to Abel Chevrolet to get it completely gone over and brought back to life. $25,000 later in maintenance and upgrades and another $7000 in detailing and full paint protection film, the car is ready to be enjoyed. Based on research and feedback as well as the car's current condition, this may be one of the nicest and rarest C5 corvettes out there.
I have the original window sticker and all related documents that came with the car from new. Here is the link to the Car and Driver review of these builds. https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...pecialty-file/

Overall the car is in pretty much mint condition. There are very few rock chips around the car in inconspicuous areas otherwise the rest of the paint is perfect. Everything functions as it should but the car does have the ABS/TC light on the dash as most C5s get(apparently even low mile examples). Unfortunately, even when working these GM abs units are very unreliable and are known to go into ice mode when driving the car hard, leading to dangerous situations so it's better to run it without the abs or upgrade to motorsport abs units. Luckily the DRM brake kit makes braking consistent and reliable so there is no need to worry about it. I will have the shop clean the ground points for the wiring connectors which I’ve been told can be the cause for the light. I will update the post if that fixes the issue. Otherwise, the car is a dream to drive. It handles like it's on rails, it pulls strong and smoothly, and the car is great even on bad roads. The ride is compliant and the exhaust doesn't drone at all which makes cruising on the highway an enjoyable task. It has all of the supporting mods necessary to drive to the track, run 5 hard 20 minute sessions and then drive it back home. This was the intent of the build from DRM and they nailed it. It deserves to get driven and enjoyed but also appreciated for the great build that it is. I’m looking for a private party sale before listing the car on Bring A Trailer
