I'm in no hurry but I want a nice fawn/fawn Corvette. Either a 61 or 62 works. Prefer to avoid FI or automatics but really open to most possibilities. I have had several of these in the past but never a fawn one. While I live in the extreme northeast I have bought cars from as far away as Washington and Florida after having them evaluated by competent folks so distance is not a major obstacle. wemillis@gmail.com.
I want to bring everyone up to date on my search. As I mentioned earlier I wanted a fawn/fawn car but might be tempted by the right 57. I indeed found and bought a 57. Cascade Green, beige coves, 4 speed, 245 horse, soft top only car.
I'm getting too old for projects. The cost of parts, labor, and especially paint will put you upside down very quickly. While I'm open to various possibilities the sweet spot for me has been a top flight or comparable car that has been driven so that it is no longer fresh but still has good bones. There is a 62 coming up with Mecum next month (lot #196) that will be interesting to watch.

nice 2 top 340hp on Facebook marketplace in Portland, noted as 2nd Flight car, 60 years owned
Are you still looking? What exactly are you looking for, an original, matching numbers, documentation? I may have a lead on one.
I'm really pretty flexible. I don't want a Powerglide, one needing paint, or one with a rusty frame. Bad rear cross piece might be OK because it was common and can be replaced. I don't want a fuel injected one because my old mechanic is no longer alive and I don't want to pay the premium for a fuel car. Basically I want a "nice" car. It need not have original engine if under the hood looks period correct. I don't expect to pay a premium for the color fawn even though I like that color. Real prices for 61-62 Corvettes are readily available from places like Bring A Trailer and that kind of tells me what I can expect to pay. Right now there is a 62 on BAT (black) that I would be interested in if fawn/fawn. That kind of condition would work for me. So no projects or freshly restored perfect show cars but something in between. With that being said I have been known to go off the rails. If I found a nice 57 white/red three speed needing a cleaning and a new home I might forget my fawn/fawn quest. Hope that helps.
Here's a white '57. I might be a little more than you want to spend, but it looks like a very nice car, and most asking prices have wiggle room. Some more than others.

Nice car. I have had 2 SWC's both fuelies. Now have C8, 66 convertible, and a 64 Riviera. I'm planning to sell the Riviera and replace it with a fawn/fawn if I can find the right one. Good luck with the 63 should be an easy sale. Bill
Right now BAT has the perfect car except it is a fuelie (big bucks), it is on the wrong coast, and in another country. Other than those minor issues it is perfect. I'll be sure to follow this one closely.

There are some more minor issues like no VIN tag in sight and an exhaust manifold with a hole suggesting that the fuelie status may be questionable. I don't understand how someone would want to buy a Corvette with no VIN tag.
