As the title states, I traded in my 2024 Z06/Z07 for a 992.2 Porsche 911 GTS.
I am missing the Z06 a lot more than I would have thought. The Porsche is an excellent vehicle, however it’s just no where near as fun as the Z06. I can’t seem to find how to explain it, but the Z06 just made me smile every single time I got behind the wheel.
Seeing some of these discounts, I’m contemplating just ordering another Z06 with museum delivery and trading the Porsche.
A year after I sold my 2024 Z06 I was back in a Chevy dealer buying a 2025. For the price you just can’t beat the experience these cars provide. Especially with the current discounts.
The C8 Z06… when it comes to the experience… it has more in common with something like a Huracan than any Corvette. It’s just a wild animal.
I didn’t move on to a 911.. but within a few months. I was missing the Z06 quite badly. Stoked to have one again. Looking forward for winter to end so I can drive it more.

Congrats on the 911: drive it for 3 months more and see if you still feel the same about it and the Z06...
I've done Museum Delivery twice: recommended if you've never done it! Staff at The Sync Hotel are always very nice!
Life is short: if something makes you smile, go with it!

It truly is such an amazing car for the money. It cannot be beat. To me it isn’t even about the money with this purchase, the sheer thrill of the Z06 is just an absolute blast. Having also done the Ron fellows school and truly pushing the car hard for a few days, I don’t think I can name a car that I enjoyed more to own than the Z06. I’ve had various Porsches tons of bmw M models have driven my brothers Ferrari’s and the Z06 just does it for me.

haven’t done museum delivery yet but if I am going to proceed I’ll definitely do it.
I have not driven the 992.2, but did own a 992.1 and ended up selling and buying a 991.2 GTS. The new ones aren’t really sports cars anymore. I just drove my 991.2 GTS and the Z06 back to back. Obviously the Z06 is a scooch quicker, but the power delivery is a bit different as you’d expect. I find the Z06 very challenging at low speeds while the PDK seems to be able to keep everything very smooth. I think the PDK is still the benchmark while the DCT, IMO, is a slight improvement over the A8 I had in my C7. I also feel like the Z06 likes to tramline more and is much more twitchy. I still don’t fully trust my Z06 but getting there. The interior is nice enough and you can see the evolutionary improvements over time (C6/C7/C8). I like the ergos a lot and the learning curve was low for me since there’s some similarity from the C7. Both the 991.2 and the Z06 have tire noise in the cabin especially on backroads, but seems to subside on the interstate for both.
The one thing I hope abates is the new motorboat smell from all the fiberglass, plastic and epoxy VOCs. It’s really strong in the trunk.
Love my new 2025 Z06, but I have kept my 2006 CaymanS over the years for a reason. It scratches that P-car itch. Love them both for many different reasons.

I got a 992.2 Carrera T in December. Great manual transmission. It’s a grown ups car. My kids fit in the back. The engine sounds better than I expected. It is extremely nimble on very tight twisty roads.
I thought I would sell my Z06 eventually after getting it.
That is definitely not going to be happening. The Z06 is just incredible.
If anything, I may sell off the Carrera T.
Eventually I’ll take it to a track day, then I’ll decide.
The Z06 offers an experience closer to a GT3, but it is downright cheap to track one in comparison to any generation GT3. So for now, I am basically convincing myself it isn’t an idiotic thing to have a 911 and a C8 Z06 because the C8 gives me my GT3 track experience, and the Carrera T gives me something close-ish (but still far away) to the GT3 road experience.
All I’m missing from the GT3 is social media clout 😂
A lateral move from your C8Z would have been to a GT3. Honestly, 911's are boring until you get to the GT cars. Great cars, for sure, but boring....
I agree. Great cars but almost too good. They are so refined, fast, quiet, etc. that they become boring. As I tell my P car group, my 911 is a better car in everyway but I'd rather drive the Z.

I think this is the main issue. As you have stated it is indeed a great car but at the end of the day kind of boring. It’s too good as stated.
I drove a GTS at the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta a couple years ago and I was really impressed however I think the GT3, or GT4RS, would be much closer to the Z06. I just picked up a GT4RS, my first Porsche, but can't really comment on it just yet other than how small/lightweight/connected it is and the noise is like nothing I've experienced. I'm never selling my manual C7 GS but I'm finding the potential C8 grand sport kind of interesting. At this point sports cars are so capable I think it's now the experience they can create versus 0-60 times or HP numbers. Find your happy spot and then ignore anyone that tells you your wrong!
I just got back from driving my friends new GTS. What a great car! I loved it. But I just love my Z06 more , the LT6 makes me so happy.....who needs a stereo!

This is my feeling as well. The 911's are well sorted, well balanced, sort of point and click kind of cars. Basically too easy to drive. Totally different than American muscle or whatever you want to call a Corvette, which has a raw feeling and you know it could bite you.

I'm surprised to hear the 911 being more balanced vs a C8. It would make more sense vs. a C5Z or C6Z, but the mid-engine Corvette I thought would be balanced and easier to drive at the limit.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
