Some people are jerks, doesn't matter what you drive. Had a jerk park so close to my truck I had to get in through the passenger seat climbing over the console. Before I left I gave him a thick loggie on his door handle and one on the windshield for good measure.I know disgusting but I couldn't help myself.

Try as you may to park in a secluded space in a wide open lot, and this happens....
Just unreal.. Some people just suck...

40-50 open spaces? i leave that guy alone.

just a few around him, and he's parked up against a curb? I park my vette right next to him. protects his car and one side of my car.

Honestly, as long as he doesn't damage the car I find it kinda amusing. I've never understood the mentality of having to park out in left field. No, I'm not saying you should squeeze into a subcompact spot. At the same time, c'mon. It's a car for crying out loud. To be clear, they shouldn't damage it, scratch it, leave a note or anything. But parking close and NOT blocking their doors is kinda funny.

He might be a car guy, and he might be parking to "protect it" or he wants an excuse to walk out to it and look at it on his way in. You just dont know people's reasons. Sometimes its just psychology, have you ever seen people form a random line? People just queue up next to things. This happens to me all the time.

There's nothing "amusing" or "funny" about someone else parking right up on you for no other reason than to get you riled up...
Maybe you should try it..
If your car got keyed, I'd find that amusing.

I think the point was that we dont know the other driver's reason. Like maybe they parked close to have an excuse to admire the C8.

That said, the truck could just as easily park ONE spot over so that his rear bumper and possible tow hitch arent within inches of the vette.

Add to that the average mentality/attitude of dudes that drive pickups in my experience (not all, but MANY, at least in TX), and yeah I lean toward the suspicion that the truck was in fact going out of his way to be a d---.

I cant count how many times I've gone to pass a truck going 10mph UNDER the limit in the fast lane in TX only to have the moron belch black smoke as he hammers it trying to prevent me from passing him. Ford F150 Raptor drivers I am looking at you.

Instead of flipping them off, I generally hold up a thumb and index finger to indicate the syndrome from which the likely suffer to evoke such behavior. Had one today in fact, though it was a caddy blackwing not a truck.

He took a turnaround at 10mph and only sped up to 30mph on a 55mph access road until my wife and I moved over to pass, at which point he was pedal-down and fishtailing to make sure his supercharged V8 wasnt passed by my lowly SLK. Small peepee syndrome without a doubt.

I just sat back and watched him accelerate to 90ish in the 55, wreckless driving territory. He then slowed down and merged onto a 70mph highway going 60mph.

We safely passed him on the highway going 75 while he sat at 60, like any sane person with an average sized peepee might. Why people act like fools behind the wheel boggles the mind.

I saw the kid and 2 girls get out laughing as they inspected the rear of his truck and the vettes nose...
They did not park there to "admire" it.
They were 100% being smart asses and they knew it....

Not surprised. If it had been me I might have confronted the little shitheels, whether the C8 was mine or not.

Then again these days any confrontation can go sideways FAF. I find myself more hesitant to confront people given how fast things escalate lately. I do try to find places someone CANT park next to me or over my nose in my LC. Thankfully I dont daily it so I can be pretty picky about when and where I take it out.

That would not bother me a bit. If they parked really close on the side, that would be different.

Yeah, my concern here actually would be they tapped the front-end whether intentional or not. Happened to me when someone was trying to parallel park, left a tiny scuff.

This may be a stretch, and, I don't condone it, but maybe the guy in the pickup parked that way so you, the owner, could see your vet. If he parked beside it, even a few spaces, he would have blocked your view and he was being extra considerate? I want to think that way, although it's a stretch. Maybe he took pics of how cool his truck is next to your awesome Vette?
I'm the person who parks far away because I like to walk and need the little exercise it provides. Whether it's my wife's Civic, my Accord, or my Vette. The main reason for parking faraway are careless folks who ding cars and think nothing of it, or they have ten kids opening and closing doors. They just don't think ilke most of us who care about our expensive toys.
Enjoy the ride!

I dont see the big deal. It comes with the territory. Anyone can park out there and for what ever reason. Some times it happens and you have to be prepared for it rather it be someone trying to box you in, someone being an *#(*# hole, or actually someone that always parks their cars out there, or someone like minded that knows they wont get a ding there as well. The only big mistake I see is that the OP didn't have the back of the car facing the other spot. That is parking 101 if you dont want someone backing their car to yours and catch a tow hitch etc. on the sloping hood. Best to have the rear end there so they can see it.

Anyway. Enjoy the ride and dont forget to wave.
