A few days ago I got a new software update request (will be the third requested update for my 2025 Eray). This one being GM Update 661.20... Anyone else seeing a request for this update and if so, have you completed it successfully??? This appears to be a fairly complex update, likely for the ERAY ONLY as it impacts some of the interfaces to the High Voltage battery (and more)... A deeper AI search suggests that it has come potential glitches, one thing I'd rather have the dealership deal with instead of me... For the 2nd update a couple months ago, I did park in the dealership parking lot but I did the update while parked there... For this one, I'm considering the same or perhaps making an appointment and paying them to do the install and check out the car afterward...
Anyone gotten the request for GM Update 661.20?? Thoughts??? thanks...
(Note: See a post of mine further down where I now question what the "deeper AI search" told me about what was contained in this 661.20 update. It offered very different information than that actually contained with the update information that I show (how to find) in a post further down... I'm inclined to believe what was contained in the actual 661.20 update info that I show, with pictures, further below...)
I got the update this morning as it was my first update since I got the car in July. I held off until I see someone on here downloaded it ok. I do think though sitting at a dealership parking lot is a good thing in case something happens with the download.
After Joe texted me, I checked for updates and none were available. I did get one update a few days after purchasing my 25' E Ray in January 26. I also have the "Automatic Updates" chosen so perhaps it updated without telling me.
Is there a way to check the update # that's currently installed?

It's my understanding that updates are issued in groups to keep from taxing available server resources. So you might get a message about an update while another owner might get that message at some other time...
Also, to check what updates, if any have been installed, go to the "settings" gear on the Infotainment screen. And from there scroll down until you see "Updates" and from there click on "Previous Updates"... I've now had three software updates installed over the past year on my 2025 Eray and those three are listed, including 661.20 just done today, on that "Previous Updates" page...
I did also, just today... But I had to do it twice... Same with a previous update... Twice on that one also... On my two failures, it does the countdown to when it's going to update but then the screen goes blank... I go away and wait thinking it's doing something but when I come back I find that nothing really happened... Then, for both 2nd tries, I do exactly the same thing but today, I really watched and took pictures... After counting down to zero, it then put up (dim on the screen so not really easy to see) "verifying update" with a spinning red cursor... And then later "installing update", again sort of dim but I was able to see it and get pictures this time... No idea why two first tries on two different updates failed... But on both second tries, I had success...
I had an update last week. It was my 1st experience since I have only had the Eray a few weeks. It was confusing to me as I had never dealt with one before but yeah, just started up after I parked, I waiting until the screen went blank, it said it would continue in the background. Only thing I noticed after was my Android Auto wouldn't connect wirelessly anymore. Not sure if it was coincidence or not. Ending up resetting the infotainment and deleting the associated profiles on both the phone and the Eray, cleared the cache on my phone and it enabled me to set it up again and now its working as it did before. Haven't noticed anything else since, but have only driven it a few miles after the update.

My wireless Android Auto stopped working after the update, also. Still broken.

Where are you finding information about what the update contains? I’ve looked before on previous updates and was never able to find anything.

When the "Vehicle Update Available" pops up on your Infotainment Screen, your options are "Install Now" and "Learn More" (first picture)... Click on "Learn More" and that will open up another message that offers the answer you are seeking, a scrollable window that shows what is contained in the update (see 2nd and third picture, the third just being a further scroll down of the 2nd).... Even though you will see the "Install Now" highlighted, it's been my habit to instead click on "Remind Me" and it will continue to do so, not every time but most times when I put the car in PARK. And when I'm finally ready to do the install, I then click on "Install Now"...
Also, note that I now question what I said above in my original post (see where I left what I said but edited my thought) about what this update contained (661.20)... I got that original info from an AI internet search and see where it has no correlation to what is actually showing up on the update screen itself... I would tend to trust what is actually contained in the update itself...
I did the update last week in my driveway and i sat in ERay until done, no issues and is first update for me and i took delivery of my ERay last July. I have Apple iPhone and Car Play worked like before and i have driven 3 times since install.

Yep did it yesterday.
When I started the car to go to the store said update available.
Waited until i got back home, parked in the garage. At the store and after I parked in garage did not show update available.
Radio did not stay on when I shut the car off and opened the door as normal it shut off.
Same when I got home, no notice.
So went to Settings, scrolled down toward bottom where it said checked for updates.
There is was.
Started in garage where the car is set to use my Network (if it wants) where my mesh has signal in the garage.
Selected start. Said starting in 30 seconds. Left the car.
Came back in hour to check it said it was installed. This one 1st line was an improvement in keeping within lines on road. I don't use so guess not much for me!
"Vehicle Software Updates | Chevrolet Support.pdf"
And in that document, it says that downloads of new updates happen automatically in the background and after that, you are then prompted that a new update is available to be installed... Is that what others believe to be the case??? DOWNLOADS happen automatically in the background and only the choice to INSTALL then belongs to the car owner???
Below are the two paragraphs from that doc that speak to the automatic download followed later by our choice to install the update...Software download
Software downloads are initiated automatically and occur in the background. You can continue to use your vehicle normally during a software download. Downloads automatically pause and resume if you turn off your vehicle or lose connectivity (e.g., if you pull into a parking garage). Download times will vary, depending on the size of an update and your wireless signal strength.
Installation
Once a software download is complete, you’ll be prompted to accept the installation of the downloaded software update upon your next drive cycle or the next time your vehicle is placed into PARK, after a drive cycle. You can also choose to be reminded later, schedule or decline the installation. If you decline an update, the update will cancel, and you may need to take your vehicle to a Dealer if you want to perform the update later. You’ll be asked to put your vehicle in PARK and turn off the engine/vehicle to initiate most updates. While an update is being performed, you can’t drive your vehicle and the center display may remain active during the update. Park in a safe and secure location before beginning any update. Generally, software installation takes about 20 minutes or less. You don’t have to stay in your vehicle during an update. If you leave your vehicle during an update, close your windows and lock your doors. Don’t leave your keys in the vehicle or lock occupants inside. It’s normal for your center display to stay on during an update. You may also notice one or more system resets during an installation process.
