So we know it will have 721hp, we don't know the tq. (Maybe 660tq?) Based on the E-Ray at 655hp and 595tq, GM says 10.5 and about 2.5 to 60.
What do you think the numbers will be for the GSX? Maybe it will be 10.2 1/4 mile and 2.2 to 60? Yeah, it will be quicker, but by how much? I know one thing, it will take off like a rocket...because the E-Ray is already plenty quick off the line. Thoughts?
that’s a pretty impressive leap forward so I believe the performance improvement would be slightly more than just a tenth of a second.
721 and 650 tq is impressive as was the 655 hp and 595 tq for the previous c8 Eray.
this new grandsport x with the 535 hp 520 tq from the ls6 and then add on top of that 186 hp from the awd and this is a wonderful performance sports car
I believe it was stated the grandsport x starting at 111 grand …then add options.
im curious if the grand sport and grand sport x will start out with the z51 suspension that is in the stingray or if it’s altered in any way..
nice riding sports car and wondering if any changes from Eray to grandsport x suspension wise.
i believe the z52 package is only available on the rear wheel drive grandsport which I believe is closer to the z06 rwd suspension package.
overall I believe the grand sport and the grandsport x are in line as one of the nicest balanced sportscar in the world..
Grandsport corvettes have always held that fine balance in the corvette lineup…
the ls6 powerplant is a nice foundation and with the power booster small 186 hp electric motor up upfront what’s not to like other than the 20 grand increase in cost to buy. That said after spending some time thrashing an Eray up in the mountains I think it’s money well spent.
the front end tires clawing out of the corners hot ******* in the Eray was quite impressive
^^^ Perhaps. Guess we'll see. All these number are contrived and massaged to make everything "fit" the narrative they want to present. IMO they will want to show the ZR1 being quicker to 60 and they advertise it at 2.3 already. Doesn't leave any room for the Z06x either.
Look at BMW's website, they are absolute masters at this. All their M-lite and M cars are faster than they advertise, but it make everything "fit" as it should.

BMW notorious sandbaggers. I had a 25 m4 and still have a 25 Z4. Both are underrated in HP and 0-60 etc…
66 HP total over the E-Ray, all else being equal, that says the potential is something over six tenths quicker quarter mile.
But, I would imagine that is being optimistic, so maybe a 1/2 second quicker quarter mile on a good day and prepped track, so like 10.0 to 10.1 quarter.
Under the same conditions, maybe a 2.2 to 2.3 0-60 mph.
I've seen zero advertised msrp for either car. I dont think an 721hp corvette is going to undercut the Z06. I think the X is going to be upper teens to start. It even Says HUD is standard on the X knot standard on the GS). Meaning it's keeping with the ERay base car "1LZ" for the "1LT" version of the X.

With the additional power (especially torque), I'm guessing repeatable 2.2/2.3 0-60 and 10.2/10.3 1/4 mile under ideal conditions. The Z06 is cooked in a straight line.

In the 10 second realm 10 hp isn’t a tenth anymore like it is with a 13 second car, it’s more like 15hp/tenth. So initially I was thinking 4 tenths, but people say the E-Ray already makes 186hp with the electric motors. If that’s the case, then we’re talking ~1/4 second improvement in the 1/4 with the 40hp increase and a tenth in the 0-60mph.
Debating about switching from my 2024 ZO6 to the newer GSX.
My ZO6 runs 10.40's with no issues on drag radials.
IMHO on paper the GSX SHOULD run 10.20's with ease bone stock on a prepped track.
I also think the updated Stingray just might be the sleeper of the bunch.

LOL, ahahahahaah. All jokes aside for ME, used to have a 2024 Model S Plaid, and I honestly got BORED with it. Sold it about 9 months in with it, but it was cool to take off on nearly everything and they didn't have a chance.

There are more Plaid’s for sale in the US under $50k than there are C8’s for sale in the US under $50k. That says exactly how desirable it is as the C8 came out a year before it did and there are many more produced than the Plaid of course, yet it retains it’s value better.

I am glad you brought this up about the Z06. I am sure if car lovers like us are bringing this up, GM is fully aware of it as well. While what I am about to state is only my opinion and guess, and I have seen nothing to back what I am about to say, but my guess and opinion is that GM will be increasing the HP of the 2027 Z06, My prediction, is GM will increase the Z06 to 820 HP, and for two reasons, since the GSx will be 721, you really want the Z06 to be in the 800's somewhere for it to be noticeably more powerful than the GSx, and reason number 2 - the Mustang GTD is 815 HP, why not give the Z06 5 more HP than the GTD to irritate a rival. I also would not be surprised to see increases in HP to the ZR1 and ZR1x.
My predictions:
Grand Sportx - 0-60 --- 2.5 seconds possible top out speed of 197 to 203 mph.
Z06 (if they do the 820 HP like I am guessing) 0-60 ---2.4 seconds and the first stock Z06 to break 200 mph. My guess top speed 212 mph
If I am correct about the numbers for the 2027 Z06, while not for certainty, but the Z06 would be something I will strongly consider.

If they made a Z06X it’d be 856hp (670+186) and the C7Z06 in base aero did over 200mph.
GSX won’t have a faster top speed than the GS as the electric motor peters out before 192mph which is 6600rpm in 6th gear.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
