I'm building a high horsepower flex fuel setup, and since i'll occasionally be running E85 and because of that and the heat it generates I have to delete my high flow cats. for those who've gone catless on a similar setup, is the exhaust smell really that bad to the point where it's worth spending the money on G-Sport 3" Ultra High Output(v2) catalytic converters instead? or will that just be a waste of money.

I have no cats. ARH 2". E85. Big cam. Smells like freedom.

lmao bruh.... you're killing me. yes well straight E85 does give off a more sweet corn smell which is pretty tolerable i would assume. i was more curious for when the mix is closer to 93 or just straight 93 octane.
I run no cats 957 whp on corn and 775 on pump 93. there isnt much smell after the o2 sensors warm up. yes cold start its gotta ripe smell on pump 93. after that I dont pay any attention to it but where I live its basically corn yr round. try huffing ignite red 115 for a true corn high!!

as long as you are driving the catless car is smells fine. If you are driving behind it the smell makes you want to kill yourself after about 5 minutes
anytime I get stuck behind someone catless I pass that **** first chance I get

huh?
what do 02 sensors have to do with exhaust pollutants on a catless set up?

when the car is cold the o2 sensor tells the ecu it needs more fuel. once the motor heats up the afr is reduced and also the smell. watch a widened afr when you first start a cold car vs a hot car

ok, I didn't realize you were just referring to a typical rich mix on a cold engine

thats where the smell comes from. and why corn smells so fine hot or cold
something else to remember is the tiniest exhaust leak will magnify the smell on a full catless system. especially if its a 2 piece mid pipe ie: eos and your sitting right on top of it
