Default '58 trunk spear location

Hello, can anyone please provide the dimensions from mounting pin to mounting pin from one spear to the other? Just the mounting pin on either end is sufficient. I'm trying to install the spears on a non original trunk lid that has no holes. Thanks.

Default Trunk irons measurements

Going be a long so bear with me. This is off my trunk and I have no proof or factual proof if this is correct. But my car is a 58 that was dechromed before I got it and most the small holes were bondoed up and I simply push the bondo out of them.

Opps I should also include this. The hole diameter is 5/16". That seems big to me and if I was starting freash as u are I would drill smaller and inlarge if needed. Also u can see my holes are cut/filed a little oblong, don't know why, I think if u use my measurements and measure your irons and average it all out there's no need for oblong holes.
Let ne know how it goes or if u need more info I'll try to help ya more.

Thanks for the info. Your trunk lid doesn't appear to be original since there is no raised area around the hole. Someone said the holes were 19" apart on another forum. I have a non original trunk lid where the holes are 18" apart, so trying to find out what is correct. I have 3 '58s and non have an original trunk lid.

Many times that lip gets sanded off during a repaint - doesn't take much. So just because the keyhole lip is not there, it could still be an original deck lid.

yes understood. Looking at close up pics of the holes, the fiberglass looks pretty smooth as if it was never sanded, that's why I suspect its not an original trunk lid.
