Thanks,
Coincidentally, I was planning a trip to COSTCO before I saw your post...needed chicken nuggets for the dog (I give him one with his Pro Plan dry kibble at dinner, it makes his day, and gives him pleasure completely inverse to its cost).
Got one since I don't have any Corvette stuff yet. The white is not a match for my new Stingray.
I'm tempted to take it apart and repaint it the correct shade as well as detailing the interior and engine bay. That would have been very easy 20 years ago, but my model building skills took a big hit along with my detail vision.
Looking forward to the GM model.
I only received the car on 1 May, so hopefully I'll hear from them soon.
I'm still waiting for some company to offer the HTC version in 1:18. With around half of C8 production being HTC's you'd think by now it'd be available.
If you're interested in a model of the HTC, Revell makes a plastic model kit in 1:25.
Nice thing about that is you can paint it like your car.
A friend, a long time car model builder, reports that the similar Revell kit if the C8 coupe has some real assembly challenges.
Likewise, a model car magazine reported fit issues.
The recommdattion..if you want it to look nice, leave out the detailed suspension and engine parts and focus on getting the body to fit the underside.
If you don't build kits, ask around, most cities have model car groups, perhaps someone would build you a kit... They might charge a fee...but often someone will do it for the fun of building and not having to find space to display it. You would obviously buy the model and paint. A warning, car kits are no longer $1.98.
BTW..Hobby Lobby sell a similar metal 1:18 C8 in screw together kit form.
I'm not sure it's available online. There's a bunch of other cars besides the Corvettes. I saw a few Lambos, Mustangs, Porsches and a few others.
Most notable, they have a nice model of the new Mustang GTD and several newer Ferrari' models.
And surprisingly, a 63 Dodge 330, B-body muscle car. It's lightweight drag models were very impressive with the the 426 Max Wedge.
Good to see something other than unobtainable and never seen in real life exotics.
