i use a Solar Throttle controller and lock the throttle out. It will still start and move at idle, but I'm pretty sure a thief would abandon the car if this happens. Easy to install and has the primary benefit of adjusting the throttle response too.
And in 2027 congress wants all new cars to have biometric sensors to lock the owners out.
Starting in 2027, all new passenger vehicles in the U.S. will be required to include federally mandated “advanced drunk and impaired driving prevention technology” under Section 24220 of the 2021 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act
"Solar Throttle controller and lock the throttle out. It will still start and move at idle"
Then the unknown question asked, would the thief abandon the attempt?
OP, what did you decide to do to prevent, or make less attractive, theft?

Ahh yes, and pay sky-high insurance rates for years after the claim/loss, not to mention the impact to insurance rates for other Corvette owners.

Soler Throttle Controller, Apple Airtag with speaker removed, faraday pouch for keyfobs, cover VIN#- all cheap/easy ways to protect your property. If you wanna go a little further, you can get a Thatcham-approved steering wheel lock or locking wheel boot.

Looks like this Autel programmer needs to tie into the obd port. So how effective are all the inexpensive obd port locks you see on Amazon, etc ?
Probably as effective as The Club as she mentioned. Maybe not an obstacle for the expert thief which is a rare occurrence but will deter the shadetree thief attempting to replicate this tactic from Googling which would be the far more likely type to make a hit on your car (the literal common thief).

When I parked in apartment parking lots I was more concerned about theft. Now, I park at home and go don't many places and don't really worry about theft.
If my Corvette gets stolen I don't think I would want it back after the thieves have had their way with it.
In order to program a new key fob you must get into the vehicle and connect to the obdII port. Lock the car, problem solved.
I think thieves are stealing locked cars. The moment you lock your car with your fob or take the key out of a Faraday pouch or just leave your key sitting at home are opportunities for thieves who use electronic relays to intercept and amplify your key's signal.

Had my trans am stolen. Never saw it again. Cops said it was likely already in a chop shop…. My keys are right by the door but in a faraday box. Can’t be intercepted. I verified it works by putting it in the box, bringing to the car and try unlocking it. Works fine and looks nice.
