Does this new PF52E oil filter look ‘right’ , compare it to the old
Bought this oil filter at summit racing equip.
PF52E Ac delco
compare it to the old (that i just fished out of the trash)
and it looks different- note the indented area on top of the filter
is this right?
or is this just a way of cheapening it up by making a shorter filter media?

They probably changed suppliers.

After finding summit racing no longer carries mobil 1 oil filters, i just installed it
no horns have grown out of the side of my car or anything like that
(if you google this filter, there is a youtube video
of a guy like me equally baffled why they changed it)

The E stands for E-core. Instead of having a traditional metal cage it has a rigid nylon plastic cage.
Not everyone is thrilled about it either...

Noticed them a few months ago. Bought a Wix instead I believe. It's probably fine but meh
