I would like to do maintenance on my 70 LT-1 whether its oil, transmission service, etc. I use ramps for my other vehicles, i had the Corvette on ramp and nothing rubbed then attempted a second time but it felt like it shifted on me. I will not be using the ramps anymore. How do you guys get under your cars? I have tripod jacks and have used those on other vehicles. I just can't decide what way i want to go. I want it high enough to work but not too high for lack of room in garage and expense.
What do you mean "then attempted a second time but it felt like it shifted on me." I built ramps, drive up on them, they get the car high enough to change the oil without any issues. If I need to have the entire car up, the front is on the ramps and I jack up the back and put ramps under the tires. Solid, does not move.
oh, just meant the next time i put it on ramps one of the ramps squirted out on me. I have put all my cars on ramps that time was the only time it moved on me.

Sounds gross
I’ve heard of people putting grip tape on the bottom of them to prevent them from moving.
+1 for the quick jacks. I was scared to try to lift my convertible due to body flex. The quick jacks work great and pick it up evenly. Plenty of room underneath.

My c5 air dam hits the ramps and they can slide forward. Screw the front end of your ramps into a 4 by four piece of plywood. The weight of the car will hold the ramps firmly!!
