Hi,
Well, I've had my 2023 3lt z51 coupe with transparent top around 1 month, and it was dark and I tried to close the hatch with one hand while holding the top.. and slipped. I DROPPED THE CORNER OF THE TOP AND CHIPPED A BIG OL PIECE of it off. Needless to say I'm waaaaaaay wayyy past mad at myself.. and upset. Does anyone know where I can buy another (obviously the dealer) but other than a dealer? Any used in perfect shape? How much am I looking at. My car WAS a 10.. not its not. I'm bummed. Please help me out Corvette Forum
TY!!!!!
Turn it over to your insurance company. Should be covered under comprehensive coverage less your deductible for that coverage, which is often times much less than your collisions deductible.

I have a brand new 3LT one for sale, but might be too expensive to ship to California?
I just purchased one from shopchevyparts.com for $1820.20 plus shipping. This was the best price that I could find. My top was for a 2LZ E-Ray Corvette. You will have to put in your make and model of your car to get the top you need.

Depending on deductible may not be worth the hit to your insurance to claim it though.

And its length makes it act like a lever so the weight in your hands is way more than its 'static' weight. I would never dream of ever holding it up with one hand. Having said all that, I managed to get one from a member here last year for $1100, brand new.
I had to have mine replaced because I became a member of the Flying Roof Club. Like yours, a big piece was chipped off of one of the corners, along with other scratches and cracks along the back side of it. Without insurance it would've run me about $2700 to get it replaced and paint-matched. I also could've purchased a transparent roof panel for a bit less money (about $2200 before shipping). In retrospect, I am glad I got it redone in the original color, as I think it's more attractive than the transparent roof and should keep it cooler inside. This is despite the additional time I had to wait compared with simply replacing it with a glass roof panel.
I will say, something my body shop fumbled was the fabric headliner. They thought they could reuse the existing headliner, but they realized it was glued-in and couldn't be easily removed. So, I got my roof back with no headliner for a few days while they waited for the headliner to come in. Make sure your shop knows about the fact that you'll need to replace the headliner.
If you have OTHER THAN COLLISION COVERAGE, it may only be a $100.00 deductible to get that replaced. That coverage is pretty inexpensive to have on a policy.
I ordered my'26 with the transparent top.
Before I took delivery, I thought about getting a solid top for sunny periods or for when I might want one. In '26 The order configurator did not list the two top option for the Stingray,, just the transparent top. I have been told the Z06 or ZR1 configurator did list the option.
I asked about good places to find a top here.
A member had just bought a new Z06 with a solid top, then he decided he wanted a transparent top,so he ordered one from GM.
He offered me his brand new solid top (in my color) in the original GM box his transparent top came in for $1800 (including freight) I took it.
He said freight costs were stupid....
He finally got it low enough ($300-400+/-) by shipping it from a friend's business to a business here..apparently house to house costs more.
He was in the Midwest, I'm in the west, so coast to coast would be even more.
About headliners...go to Amazon. They sell small role of headliner. I found a roll for the s inside of my solid top to match the interiot. I was something like $60.
The president of our local Corvette club just put a transparent top on his 26 ERay last month. He was able to get it for less than $2k from a local dealer who was willing to work with him on the price. I don't think I'd even contact my auto insurance if I needed to replace one.
