Default Transmission Help. Not shifting into second all the way

I have a 2003 Vette, manual transmission. Having problems lately falling out of second or more likely not fully getting it shifted into second gear. Could the shift rod be bent? Is there any adjustment. I know the shifter is tight on the transmission side cause a shop recently replaced the transmission. They put a new roll pin in the linkage; it shifted poorly into second before the new transmission. The new transmission isn't faulty imo. What could need adjusted? Is it a transmission issue? Clutch isn't new but it doesn't seem to slip. No grinding of gears when shifting into any gears and it doesn't grind when the shifter pops out of place either.

Just need some advice!

I'm not clear what ".....the shifter is tight on the transmission side" means? Did the transmission shop make a diagnosis of a bad transmission based on how it was shifting before? If so, the test drive should have revealed a new transmission did not solve the problem? What did the shop say?
With regard to adjustment....yes there is a shifter alignment/adjustment procedure..... BUT.....that would have been done by the transmission shop if they followed the service manual procedure anyway.

It was done before i bought the car. The previous owner gave me the run down. He gave me a big discount and so i bought the car knowing there's and issue, he was sick of this issue lol. He has the paperwork for the purchase of the transmission however nothing for the install so maybe an un-reliable shop did the install and didn't follow procedure when installing the shifter? He told me when the shop did the transmission install, they put a new roll pin in the rod to the transmission, I'm assuming his was bad or maybe sheared off, idk.

I looked up and found the procedure for shifter alignment. With the neutral pin and removing all the trim, i will follow the procedure and do it myself and see if that helps. Wasn't sure if the rod or linkage from the shifter to transmission could be bent or not.

Ok. Start with the procedure that is in the link I posted, and see what that yields.

Are you fixing this yourself? I have an auto, I’m not sure if I would mess with the shifter, let the pros work on it.

I did the procedure, took a lot of wiggling and moving to get the neutral pin to slide in easy and all the way down! once it seemed free, I tightened everything and tested, and now shifting issues are all gone.

Now im wondering if maybe they replaced the transmission for no reason and had shifter mis-alignment in their the whole time? Maybe the transmission i have is good still lol.
