Since the introduction of the C8 in July 2019, the have been numerous Corvette stories in the news involving the C8. Some of the stories centered around C8 police cars and C8 chases, but most of them have been about C8 accidents. In the past three months, there have been a number of stories about wrecked C8's in California, and the latest story I came across yesterday prompted me to start this thread. Feel free to add to it with stories from your part of the world.
Guessing some of this is related to high production numbers and the c8 mid engine design which attracted many younger buyers who might not otherwise buy a Corvette.
The car is powerful and fast, it demands respect and caution. Call me a wuss but I've never used the launch control or done a full throttle run at any point in first gear. Most of the time I enjoy mid throttle acceleration which leaves other cars far behind. Passing at 50 mph takes a matter of a few seconds. The occupants of the car in the crash into the Maserati dealership were lucky, very lucky.
