Default “Service Door Latch System”

I have a 2022 HTC, non-Z51. Since taking the car out of winter hibernation I have been getting the “Service Door Latch System” on the DIC on every startup. Before putting it away for the winter everything was fine. Other than the notification on the DIC everything is fine, no issues with the doors, trunk or frunk lids, or latches. I suspect an electrical gremlin of some sort. I have disconnected the negative terminal on the battery for about 20 minutes as a possible remedy to reset the modules but still getting the notification. Short of going to the dealership for resolution, has anyone experienced this and if so were you able to resolve the issue?

I'd say some fault has been detected in the door latching system, hence it's telling you to service that system.

Attached is the diagnostic procedure outlined in the Chilton's manual for the door latching system .. not sure it helps, but is what is available there.

Maybe try actuating both of the door manual release levers, just to see if maybe a contact there has developed some corrosion and isn't making good contact?

Thank you, I’ll give that a try and see if I get lucky.

I had that on my 22 Z51 SR- was the wiring going to the fuel door- they had to take fender well off to access it

Thanks for the response. I hadn’t thought about the fuel door as being one of the possibilities for the alert.

Okay, I just checked my car, and I believe the fuel door is also the reason for my alert, because when my doors are locked the gas door is not locking anymore. Could this be one of the reasons why GM did away with the locking fuel door on recent C8 models? (I believe they have done that, from reading some recent posts on this forum). If there have been a lot of failures of the gas door locking latch (similar to what you experienced) then GM has removed one more failure point that they won’t have to contend with. I don’t imagine it’s an inexpensive warranty repair item if they have to remove the fender well to access the fuel door wiring. Just a thought.

Do you have the repair summary for this? I wonder what they did to resolve it.

I attached the diags procedure for the fuel fill door ... maybe it'll help?
