My friend passed and left his kid with his 1966 L72 coupe 18k original miles like new never seen rain climate controlled garage. The kid is not into it . What do you experts think is is worth. He has every piece of documentation imaginable. The car is truly unreal.
Pictures and description of options would be helpful. If no pictures available, at least list the color (exterior and interior) and options. Sounds like it could be a spectacular coupe. With only 16,000 miles it's going to have to be nursed back to health

The documentation will mean a lot on BaT. Even the cost of an Al Grenning block stamping certification is worth it because people without deep Corvette knowledge are willing to bid a lot of money on BaT but they need hard evidence and 3rd party assurances. Also spend whatever it takes to get the car running and the brakes working safely. Do not let a car like that be labeled a “project” because it can’t be driven. Starting and driving videos are very important on BaT.
Wow, wish he was my uncle. I don't know values so offer my un professional thoughts. That car is a one of a kind, time warp, perfect car for a collector to buy if it is as stated. I am thinking $200,000 starting bid, would not be surprised to see it go much higher. Perfect examples fully restored with normal, 100,000 miles on them sell for over $100,000.
Your car would be in near new condition. Sure to drive it again it will need the normal stuff replaced or rebuilt. Tires, Rubber hoses, brake lines, all the cork gaskets, probably master cylinder, fuel lines. Minor issues to a wrench. Not much money compared to the value of that car. Best of luck with the sale if that is for sure where it is headed.
Talked to this Knucklehead last night I had told him I would get some Information for him on the car. He told me a friend of his knows a guy that wants the car. I told him to hold off and relax a moment. Told him to let me know what the guy is willing to pay before he says yes. I just realized when I said it was my buddy's son I meant grandson. Young and Dumb.
there is two schools of thought. he watched way to many tv auctions and thinks the car is worth a king's ransom or he lives under a rock and its just a used gas guzzler chevy

He is probably really excited that he can buy this years model cell phone with the money.......
Be BLUNT, tell the kid what it is worth at a minimum, maybe $125,000 to more that double that. He may hear $40,000 ,think it is a huge amount of money and jump on it being young and dumb. Or heck, if he says he is going to take $40 K from a FRIEND, give him $45K and make it yours. Sorry, hard to be level headed when such a nice find is maybe headed to the wrong place.

While not a direct comparison, there were 3 low mileage, unmolested 65 396 cars that sold from a collection at Mecum Indy, 2 went for 165K and another for 209K..all including fees. one example:
