I'm eliminating the AC in my 1980 since living in northern Minnesota I don't feel the need. However I am retaining all the parts.
I've heard the C3"s can have cooling issues, so my question is will removing the AC condenser from in front of the radiator help that issue?
Thanks.
1980 here: I just rebuilt my cooling system. New aluminum rad. Water pump. Hoses, belts and thermostat all new. It runs the stock rad shroud and clutch fan. I chose a 165 thermostat. That’s where its running. Too cold. I will bump it up to 180. I have no heating issues at the moment. My car has no A/C system.

Like what’s been said, the short answer is yes. Less things in the way of the radiator means more air can flow through it. There are many other ways to help a C3 run cooler though, AC or not.
If you’re removing all the HVAC this will make the front of the car significantly lighter. Note how much room there is between the top of the tire and the fender.
This can be fixed though, and you’ll love all the extra room you get in the engine bay.
After the week we just had here down by the twin cities AC certainly sounds nice, but when it’s too bad out I just don’t drive it.

Not using the original GM timing specs and setting it according to Lars' tuning papers should also help it to run cooler. Just saying at least I think it will but I'm no expurt!
Thanks for all the replies.
Never considered a higher riding front end, thanks for the head's up Piersonpie..
On a little different tack, does anyone have a good design on how to make a one piece fan shroud into an easy to remove 2 piece'er?
The easiest shroud to remove is a flat one with an electric fan in the middle.
I wouldn’t try cutting your factory one in half. The way it’s formed it’s very hard to get it back into a perfect circle, plus it looks like a hack job. It’s very easy to remove if you take the radiator out first.
