Default 1963 E brake light

On my 63 I refurbished my cluster. I am not sure if the E brake light worked before I started the refurbish process. I replaced all of the bulbs, gages, and made sure the tech and speedo worked. After installing the cluster I noticed the E brake light stays on. I remove the wires from the switch and it went out. I then removed the switch and checked its function. When you push the plunger continuity is broken, so the switch works. What on the E brake rod trips the switch, is there a screw located on the rod that’s trips it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Mitch

There's a stop pin that goes into the shaft that pushes open the switch when parking brake is off.

Thank you I’ll have to crawl under there later today and check to see if the pin is still there.

Don’t forget the #257 flashing light bulb.

I just want to add to be very careful with that emergency brake switch, it’s a one year only part. $$$. The GE 257 flashing bulbs are used in that circuit plus the headlight warning circuit.

I thought the flashing bulb wasn't used on the 63
