Dad's L79 we finished 25 years ago the dip stick tube broke out of the block and I can still see the tube in the block. Is removing the exhaust manifold necessary to get to it. I told dad I think the best way is to drive an easy out in the tube and hopefully back it out or maybe tap some threads to screw a bolt into it to pull it out. Is there some other way.
Leif thanks for the old thread search. that seems doable. just another project to do. and Richard hopefully we don't have to pull the pan. luckily dad has three other mid years to drive until we fix this. and he did win a trophy at a the car show today with a broken dipstick tub and all
