Default Should I buy a used C8 that has had valve body replaced

I am looking at buying a 2022 that has had the transmission valve body replaced according to the VIS. Should I avoid buying this car because of this? Is this warning sign of future problems? Any advice would be appreciated

Thanks

It's a warning sign of past problems.
Was trans maintenance done by the book?
Any warranty offered?
'22 warranty is about up, fixing to be 5 years old.

You can also look at it this way...

You'd be buying a car where the transmission has been looked at/inspected.
That's more than most used C8s can claim.

Does it come with DCT service records?

Not unless you can get extended warranty and clean...meaning maintenance was done on time...imo...Just too much risk...good luck

It can be a warning sign that there has been excessive debris in the transmission . really depends how long ago was it done. If it has been a long time mileage wise less risk than a short time IMO. I found the VB failure on my car was a warning sign that the clutch was contacting the case causing excessive debris. Ultimately took out parking pawl (due to the same debris) and clutch. So it for sure can be a warning sign. You have to remember the other components have been exposure to the same debris the failed VB has. The big one is the parking pawl as it requires pulling the transmission and can "electronically" drift from the debris sticking to it. If outside of warranty this repair would be very expensive as the part costs around 1500-2K and the labor would be around 20+ hours at the labor rate of the dealer so at a minimum probably 3K-5K labor.

My pawl solenoids were coated on mine and you could physically see the debris electromagnetically sticking to the solenoids.
