I have owned my C5 for about 11/2 years, and I have yet to find a Corvette club that really gears towards the performance aspect of the Corvette. I good friend of mine has a 350Z club that has been constantly growing with members from 17 to 60 years old. They rent tracks at certain times of the year, and attend events often as a group to compete. I would like to find a Corvette club that is alot like that. A club that meets weekly for dinners, lunch, and cruises, but also has track days. If there is such a club, please let me know. If there isn't, would anyone be interested in helping me start one? In short, it just seems like Corvette owners that race are missing a fun, performance type of club that can meet for lunch on a saturday afternoon, and then drive to the Corvette Challange for a night of fun. Speaking of the challange, that is a must for anyone that llikes to drag their vettes. It's once a month, and I had a blast. I was the top finishing 6 speed vette, taking second to an awesome blue automatic c4.
Mike if you want to do a weekend lunch at a local restraurant(sp) just make a post, i'm sure you will get a good group together. We had 27 vettes at the last one I did in Boca. Bob
I'm down for that but most of the vette owners here (sebring) have no interest in getting together or doing track stuff. you'd think with a road course right in our back yard, we'd have a better local showing.
Race to see who gets there food 1st.
social ,but we had 14 vettes at Moroso corvette Challenge..
And it was great that so many of you come out. Norm and I thought it was fantastic to see so many members of the Corvette Club of the Palm Beaches out at the track. Since some of you got out there and raced it now needs to be a mandatory monthly outing.
I looked at the site and that is just what I was thinking. Have dyno days, tech days, picnics, rallies, etc. Most importantly, be able to have different groups from each county that all join together as one group monthly. Each chapter can have a weekly meeting as well.
I doubt any of my ideas are new, and I am sure there are a few clubs that do similar things. If so, I would like info from each so I can be a member. But, if there is room for a performance type club, I would be willing to begin one with others that have the same interests.
Anyone with info or suggestions please e-mail me. Also, I don't want to offend any other clubs or members at all. Would prefer to work with them and go racing.
You know if you really want something like that to happen you need to be more pro-active . Between all the go fast motorheads it should not be too hard to accomplish. Try to figure a date and find the availability of a good road course then put out the interest feelers. Most of the best hook ups come from someone just saying they want this to happen and do some work to get it going. Best of luck as I know with the knowledgebase on this site it can happen in a heartbeat.................
I agree!! I currently have a list of 8 people interested in a club and will be posting an event that will attract the performance minded owners "mostly", not "only". Anything I lead others into will be for all vette owners, not just gear heads. Watch for a post for an upcoming event. Do you have any good groups in Melbourne?
I belong to the florida corvette racing club, based out of the tampa area. We put on a number of events per year of which two are NCCC points events. We are not on the track but at the florida fairgrounds in tampa.

I would be interested in the info on Tampa Fair grounds. I also have went to Sebring with Chin Motorsports there were a few vettes there and some people from the forum.
