The Jacksonville area is great, goto www.ncccsouth.com and check out some of the Corvette activities. North Florida Corvette Association is a great group and do every type of vette activity that exists.

I guess it depends on your own likes and dislikes. Where would you be coming from? What part of the city is the job located? Family or single?
We have a little more seasonal changes than south FL. We originally came from northern IL and like the weather and the area a lot.
The drivers stink. Never signal for a lane change or they will close the gap. The traffic is very bad during rush hour. Where you work could make a big difference on your commute.
The beaches are nice. St. Augustine beach is a drive-on beach that is really great.
Duval county schools (all of Jax is Duval) are not that great. Many of us live in the Orange Park area (Clay County) or northern St. John's county and commute. The schools are better there and you may find a lower property tax in some of those areas.
The cruising scene is big. There are parking lot cruise in's every Saturday night. We have a good SCCA autocross group and several active Corvette clubs.
