I have done it the last few years. Last year was a bust. They went backwards in the sense that the vette/ssr course was not timed. The H2 course is good, but the rest of them are pretty lame and you get yelled at for aggressive driving I thought that is why I was there. Now if you are in the hunt for a new vehicle, it is a great place to test drive different makes side by side. It is a gm sponsored event, but they have saab's, volvo's, bmw's, ford's, toyota's, etc there as well to compare.
I watched the video and thought it looked crowded and the course looked slow, but it's like you said, I'm interested in driving some of the other vehicles out there and the dealers don't encourage test drives unless they think they've got a chance to sell. So, I'm going to drive everything I might be interested in and then go home. Hope to get a few rounds in the vettes. I've done the Dream and Drive tours a few times (as corvette owners they let us be the instructors) and that was a blast! I know this won't be comparable but I'm looking forward to it. Thanks for your response!
